To my reckoning, there are 47 things there need to be plenty more of in video-games. If you feel I have omitted anything, please feel free to add your contribution to this utterly, utterly essential database.

1)Porn
2)Roller-coasters/fairground rides
3)Motorbikes with sidecars
4)Flying people
5)Transformers/He-Man/Thundercats/MASK type things
6)A-Team/Airwolf/Street Hawk/Knight Rider type things
7)References to Dale Winton
8)Mini game in game things (like Hang-On in Shenmue)
9)Cheeses (possibly satisfied by no.12)
10)Digitised spleen/motion-captured brain explosions
11)Tobacco products, especially pipes
12)Lesser known sports eg kabadi or cheese-rolling
13)Silly, or unwieldy peripherals
14)Copies of GTA3
15)Decent Simpsons franchises
16)hip-hop soundtracks
17)Insects (MrMoskeeto on the PS2 looks good though...)
18)Cowboys & Native Americans

I definitely agree we need more staple-guns in video games, and probably salted popcorn too. I'll update soon (maybe)

Some more things :

1) Unexplained crashing
2) Nasty shocks when you remove the cd from the drive
3) Random deleting of vital saved games
4) 3 hour loading breaks between levels
5) salted popcorn

This thread's been up for a month now, so I guess the lack of replies means it has been a conclusive success.
