Sonic may of lost it, but his ties with Nintendo look to me as if Sonic may be saved.
Well its gone the drain in my personal opinion.

This is indeed true. However, the total profit made from the PS (not just by Sony, but in the whole industry) was about 100 times bigger than that made by the N64.
Looking at Ninty and Sony themselves, Ninty did indeed get far more money. But remember, 2 years ago they made $1billion from pokemon alone, and a loss from everything else put together. It just shows how the one brand can lift the company.
