I believe I have made it relatively clear in the majority of my computer-based posts that I am a huge PC fan. Dunno why really - I guess I just like the sheer power of a 1.6 Ghz processor.

Now, people are constantly telling me that a PC sux (or the nearest equivalent). Personally, I don't agree. However, I am beginning to consider purchasing a console for myself.

What I'd like to know (without this degrading in to a slagging-off match) is which console would suit me the most. As a bit of background:

I'm in to Star Wars big-time.
I love first-person shooters, strategies and RPGs (yeah, the sad teenager thing)
I've got a DVD drive, so that doesn't figure in console purchase.

Recently, I have become intrigued by the graphics on a PS2 - they are almost as good as a PC. To be honest, I think I'm leaning in the PS2s general direction...maybe enough to fork out loadsa money.

Anyone out there agree, or should I just stick with a monster PC?

Well if you want FPS then the PS2 is for you there are loads of them on there at the moment with more to come quite obviously. The king of RPGs supposedly Final Fantasy X is coming out this month so that should tickle your fancy plus you said your a Star Wars fans and it seems to me that a month doesn't go by without a new Star Wars game coming out so you will have lots of choice.

Well, it depends on how you define "Powerful" Most people would say that the Xbox is the most powerful console, this is because it's components have a higher spec than the PS2's

That's to put it simply.

If you want to know which can do the best like about all those specs and everything then the XBox is far superior followed by the Gamecube and then the PS2 seeming to be far behind.

Ive got a PS2 and im very happy with it though.

If i were in the situation right now, i think id buy the PS2 but thats just me.

What's that supposed to mean? Is the PS2 actually the most powerful one around?

Well, I think that whatever we say, you are still gonna do what you think's best.

If you are really want a console, get a PS2 now. If you want the 'best' console, I'd say wait a while, soon we'll all know which one is the 'best'
