Where do you vote for the next notable?
What I like about this forum is that anyone can walk in here and get treated with respect. A newbie can walk in here and be treated fairly. I mean if they just spam a load of crap, then yeah, someone will have a word about it, but overall, a Newbie isn't condemned on entrance like the other forums.
Plus if you write good posts, then people appreciate it and actually add their views. Like you said, its not long before the stupid "I just saw a fly on my window" type topics knock the quality ones down the bottom of the pile in the other forums.
I like to come on here to talk about games and the only place I feel I can do that is in here. Even though I can't see me getting very far in the elections, I'm happy that I'm getting a few votes from people (thanks again to those people ;-) ), cause after 573 days today, its nice to get a little recognition and feel that I've been noticed. And what makes the votes better to me is that they are from this forum, a place where people actually think out decent topics rather just spew out any old crap to get their word count out.
This may sound stupid, but I'd rather recieve votes from people I consider excellent posters, people who know what they're talking about - like the posters on here and lose the Notable elections, rather than try to get an army of spamming idiots behind me and win.

I don't think there are enough xbox forum regulars to make a significant input on there notable elections.

Well if 2 Notables are being elected then maybe a person from here and SonicRav can do it. ;-) Doubt it though cause it looks like the Notables are gonna dictate who gets it.
Even if you get past them, no doubt the Ninty fanboys will stick together like glue for the sole reason that they all blindly follow the same company.
Afterall, this is little more than a popularity contest and its very unlikely that someone who actually deserves it will get it.

I totally agree with everything you said savatt.
I would also like to see someone from this forum become notable, as there are a few who are deserving of it. I may vote for you, I ain't decided.
But I would also like to see Sonicrav as notable, even though he's not an xbox forum regular he does back the system up and his posts are always logical.

I haven't had much trouble voting in the past, but this time its hard cause over the last few months I've had a right laugh with people in this forum in particular.
Looks like its going to be 2 Notables elected this time so you never know, maybe I'll be the dark horse of the elections. ;-))
Personally though, I'd really like to see someone from this forum become a Notable - even if its not me. Cause everyone who visits this place regularly has made it a great place to chat with very little spam - especially when you compare it to the other forums. Thats the only reason this place is further down the list than forums like the PS2 one.
I came in here and there were very few of us at first. But more people came in gradually and now its a good forum. Even an X-Box site was put together between a bunch of us which Glide is working hard on. :-)

Of course we have idiots that visit from time to time, but you all know who I mean because all of you are no doubt reading this. To name a few that stand out for me, people worth a big mention for their contributions in here are Silent85, Outlaw and Adrian. But there really isn't anyone on here that doesn't deserve a mention. Of course Glide isn't on here much right now, but thats only because of Xbox.com keeping him busy. :-)
Sorry if I haven't mentioned your name, but as I said, there are a good number of quality posters on here and I wouldn't be bitter at anyone in here for being elected ahead of me. Anyone can walk into chat and write 500 posts of one liner crap messages and sarcastic remarks. But as far as I'm concerned, for quality posts and the chance to be treated with some respect, you don't need to look any further than the X-Box forum.
