Ali, as well as having the gameaday competition, why not have a forum person of the year award for the person who contributes most to the forum site in general? I wonder what youd put up for the winner? A console perhaps?

Ali - I reckon this is a really good idea. The DOM (discusser of the month) could win all the unclaimed prizes from the previous month and could be made responsible for checking all the posts for the following month. i.e. he (or she) could be KING DOM for the month. You could throw in some telephone money too. They could submit six finalists per day to you for final judgement on the prizes!
one every year!? what if you join on December the 31? and write a really good letter at 11:00pm? would that person have a chance, or does he have to wait for the next award? and would there be a big ceremony?
