I think the religious aspect of games should be explored. Why isn't there a beat 'em up where you can choose a religion and battle it out with other religions to see which one is the most holy. You could be a Christian and throw the Bible at a Hindu and vice versa with the Quoran. There would be all sorts of hidden weapons like crosses and scrolls and you could summon plagues. You could also have a character from a non-violent religion that just gets red in the face and storms off. But he'd be pretty useless, though (much like Brazil vs Jamaica in ISS - if you get my drift). Vishnu would be similar to Goro from MK and Jesus could make a big feast for the lot of them. I don't know where this religious tournament would take place. I suppose you could use Heaven and Hell as a kind of Home and Away thingy. There could be sub-games where you have to quote religious lines and stuff like that.
Anyway, this is starting to sound like a pretty poor idea for a game already! Tell me what you think (or if you're insulted - I don't care, I don't believe in organised religion anyway. Unless it's as a tag team).
