Yeah, im not allowed my cube til' the nite before my b'day. I went round my dad's house today (twos the first time since the cube had arrived there). I was allowed to open the box and look at everything 'whoopee' but the cube itself looks really cool under close examination :D

I have not got the gamecube because of my exams but i have the sound stations and it rocks. It really inproves the sound over a tv's sound

Got my RGB cable from ToysRus, they had plenty yesterday, they were not in the cabinet like normal with a ticket, instead there was a picture on a game box mudled in with the games, worth a look if you can't find one.

Amazingly, I thought the Gamecube itself was rather large. However, this is probably because people go on about how small it is, I was expecting something microscopic! Now I've stared at it for a few hours, it seems to be getting smaller, sat atop my PS2.

The game discs and memory cards are almost laughably small (which makes them incredibly funky).

The controller however, well, that's a different story. The first time I unwrapped it and carressed its purple curves, I was a BIT disappointed. The handles didn't seem long enough for my longer-than-average hands, the Z trigger is in the most stupid place ever, and the lack of pressure-sensitive action buttons is slightly disappointing. That said, it's still a trillion times better than the PS2 and X-BOX pad, especially now that I'm accustomed to it.

And I'd just like to announce that my Indigo Gamecube is the sleekest, sexiest and down-right handsomest (probably not a word) console ever to be created.

First Impressions

Hardware

Very Impressed with Cube, amazing what power comes from such a small box compared with the Microsoft Doorstop, have not made my mind up on the controller yet, but that is because I have been playing Playstation 1 & 2 for too long and got used to the PS controller.

Games

Luigi's Mansion - Great Graphics, a bit easy, but also confusing

Star Wars Rogue Leader - Excellent game if like me you like Star Wars, its the Star Wars game we have waited for all these years. Only grumble is the radar is very confusing and not very helpful. Perfect in every other way!

Wave Race - Have not played a lot, water effects are amazing and there looks like there will be a lot of Gamepolay in there

Super Monkey Ball - Have not played this much either, but this game makes me laugh, especially the Monkey Fight and Monkey Target.

GameCube delivery

Major dissapointment, ordered 6 weeks ago from SR and it did not arrive on launch. My original ordere was cancelled by SR and no one told me. I had ordered the official Jedi bundle, when I telephoned they said it had been cancelled did I want the unofficial bundle, this was 2 weeks ago I was promised this would not effect my position in the queue, however no GC. When I found out there were a few around I cancelled my GC order with SR and got on e from Argos.

P.S. I also purchased the offical RGB lead, this makes a huge difference to the games, both in clarity and colours, if you are struggling seeing Tie's in Rogue LEader this will help.

first thing i noticed, how small the controller sockets+plugs are. they are almost indistinguishable from the wire.

gamecube: that genuinly is too small to be a console.

CD: it's got to be somewere in this box...

Mem card 59: mine blew out the window.

comparison to n64: like a beatle to a JCB, like david to goliath, edam to babybell....

Gamecube - small, excellent, lovely in black, perfect console!

Offical controller - best ever controller

memoery card 59 - tiny but sweet

Luigi's Mansion - great game but bit to short

Rouge Leader - great graphics etc but very hard and confusing, swapping for Tony Hawk's 3 with Cooky!

I've also got Sonic Adventure 2 on the way!

Overall the Gamecube is perfect

I stayed up until midnight because I couldn't sleep, and I knew it was coming tomorrow. If you don't mind, there have been many topics about this subject, and I don't want to reply to them all, so.... why can't we just talk about this in the WLT or something?
