The Playstation. A worthy machine, no doubt. The Dreamcast ,the N64 and the Gameboy: all very fine gaming consoles. But, let's face it - they're not as good as the mighty PC, are they?
No other platform offers as many games as the PC and not as much quality. There is every kind of game available for the PC: all kinds of strategy(real-time, action, turn-based etc.) the best racing games, every kind of sport simulation(football, rugby and even the Olympics) everything I could go on all day.
You even get the games much cheaper than all the other consoles with much better detail and gameplay. And when a top seller has been out for over a year or so you get at half the price.
In case you have not guesed the PC is the greatest platform for playing games (well I think so anyway).

The PS2 is not made for games really, it's for those stupid DVD player hunters and it plays CD's.
It makes me mad how everyone, knows about the PS2 and think it's the best console ever. Watching people crying out when they pick up their console, and giving way the N64 space in shops will be a sad day for me.

I bought a PC about two years ago as I was impressed by the huge selection of PC games in the game stores and by the superior graphics of PC games.

But after playing it for all this time I am fed up with it. PC gaming = lots of money spent on upgrades, frustrated hours spent trying to get some games to work and sometimes having to admit defeat and return the game to the shop, psychopathic feelings aroused by crashes and a lack of decent software outside the arenas of FPS, Strategy and Sports. No beat em ups, no platformers etc.

Console Gaming = If it says it works on that system it will work on that system, good games in lots of categories, slouch in your armchair and play comfort, cheaper hardware leaves more money for software, doesnt crash and ruin all your fun.

I am keeping my PC for the internet, Word and Access. I am buying a PS2 to play games. I yearn for a beat-em-up and cant wait to get TTT. PC gaming has gone stale its all FPS's and Strategy games.

It may be a good platform for playing first person shooters certainly, but for anything else, the PC is seriously lagging behind the consoles. Why do you think the X-Box was developed? Its practically a PC in a little box and has the same amount of horse power(and probably price) that a PC has. Also, there are so many different types and specifications that it makes PCs very different to program for, Ive seem Sports Interactive program for PC, believe me it seems very difficult. You may get the games for cheaper, but its probably because the hardware is so expensive. I personally think that some games look better on consoles than on computers, but thats a matter of opinion.

Interesting views but the PC is just the best at the moment. Maybe the Gamecube or the PS2 shall change my mind.

Pc's are pretty good for games if you can be bothered to put in the effort.
In the time it take for windows to load up, the game to be installed, the game to be loaded up (and thats providing that there's no bugs or errors!) you could have played through the first 2 levels on Goldeneye.
Naturally the PC always has the most advanced technology (at incredibly high prices) but are less reliable and the control systems aren't as straight forward or as clever as joy pad ones.
As for internet play, there's no much lag, it's only worth doing for the social side of things. (clan wars are great!)

My console has crashed due to pulling the control to far and making it drop down on the floor.

My console has never crashed, but I've seen many a controller do it, some people need some serious anger management therapy .

The last time my console crashed was when I saw, in the corner of my eye, Goldeneye flying towards an open window...

The PC: Great multi useable machine, internet ready, homework compatible, great graphics, crashable when needed, games machine, online gaming, this website, email, meeting people online and too hard to bring round your mates house (it's too much things and it's too heavy)

Consoles: Laugh as you kill your mate or mates, capable sound if you have a HI-Fi with speakers, no crashing most of the time, games machine, you can easily carry it to your mates house and play it there, or yeah it's easy to connect and start playing in a few minutes, multiplaying with people next to you not in another country, internet capable.
