I certainly applaud the device, as I, and I am sure many others, get annoyed when the controller wires get tangled up, and it takes ages to get them all sorted.
Also, there is a longer distance between you and console. This means that the console doesn't have to be in the middle of the floor when playing.
AND you don't have to aim the device at the console, so you are free to wave your arms all over the place without fear that the controller will stop working.
One thing sparks in my mind though, (OW!) and thats if you use four controllers, will there be any interference when using them, or in other words, can you use more than one at a time?

But on a serious note, the PC and playstation already have wireless controllers, the PC having both infared and FM versions. They seem to work quite well until you get out of range and lose control, but this doesn't happen very often as most of them have quite a wide range.
