Let us compare games sold in one year:
Mario Kart games sold: 34,654,343
Mario64 games sold: 678,454,454
Hey you pikachu games sold: 2,545,454
total n64's sold: 34,343,665
Now for gamecube!
Super Smash bros. melee games sold: 12,434,344
Pikimin games sold: 3,434,343
wave race blue storm games sold: 6,455,454
total gamecubes sold: 19,546,546
I thought it was the actual playability of the games that made a console good not the number sold.
Besides like others have said GC is only just out.
> gamecube has come out with graphics over 1023 mbit
Ummm, I think you may be mistaken.... I didn't even think you could compare graphics with mb... ah well learn something new everyday...
Anyway, I think this comparison is a bit of a stupid one to make. For starters, games like Mario 64 were available right from the off. Super Mario Sunshine, however, what looks to be the first definite Killer App, is a few months away at least.
The N64 was also...a great failure for Nintendo. Much like the DC, IMO, it had the best games on offer but didn't get the sales. Also, it was only really up against the PSX, so to look at it very basically, it would have one half of all sales. Now though, the GCN would only get a third (not taking into consideration popularity and all that jazz).
We've had what, 5 years to look at the N64. The GCN is in its infancy. You can't compare them, it's stupid.
