I've been told, that I'm the first female gamer to come here.

Is it that difficult for a girl to be a gamer? Every boy that I talk to thinks I'm a bit of a wierdo, but I think that we should have the same rights as boys/men when playing computer games. Are we meant to be playing with Barbies, and baby dolls....because if we are...there is definatley something wrong with me! I have never liked Barbies or baby dolls, like many of my friends did, and when I played on my Gameboy they thought i was some freak. Thank god for computer games.



Now....

just to be sure that Grix wasn't pulling my leg (and I'm sure he wasn't), if there are any other female gamers on this site that haven't spoken up yet........

Well I know how you feel as once I was in the same boat,
but now I have a g/f who loves a lot of games (once I
showed her there was more to games than just pacman).

She is a big fan of the Resident Evil games and has also
completed Zelda Ocarina of time. I just wish she liked
competing on games like Tony Hawk, Tempest and others. I
dont think she wants to lose.

My nan now plays games in her old peoples home and apparently whoops the staff at teken2! Most of my friends play video games but not many are actually prepared to to spend time getting into a game on their own, I was the same until I discovered FF7 and just played against my brothers now and again.

I don't see why girls don't want to play computer games. There's nothing stopping them. I know that evryone has theie own taste in stuff, but girls take it upon themselves to stear themselves away from computer games. why? Is it not cool all of a sudden? Or do they just want to be with the IN crowd? Some of the girls in my year don't go near computer games because they have to go and "chat with their friends". Chat with their friends? I have friends, but sometimes I prefer to be alone at home, then out with friends all the time. My 'friends' aren't very nice to me anyway. Well I have 4 of them, and they all hate each other, but they'r all friends with me. Anyway, I can't think of what to go "chat with my friends" about half the time, nothing very exiting goes on in my life to chat about. I'd rather go out with a load of boys, coz they don't end up bitching about each other and leaving me in truro.

Yeh. I think that girls never play computer games coz they consider it "UNCOOL", and they'd rather be out chating. God, they are boring!

My girlfriend regularly kicks my behind at Worms Armageddon, Tony Hawk's 2 and Bust-A-Move 2. It's something about concentration apparently, but I reckon they cheat. They're not all smiles and sunshine you know... a prize for anyone who knows where that quote came from (not really, but have a go anyway).

I kinda like women gamers, theyre normally pretty good at them if they get into them! Guru, I like your taste, me and you seem to have a lot of games in common!(Im a man by the way!) Id definately like to see more female gamers.

Well I'm female and a gamer...I know loadsa fellow female gamers but I agree that the world of consoles and the like, still remains relatively male-dominated. I think that a lot of women are put off from getting into gaming because it seems such a male pastime.
