Just in case any of you out there are still paying for your electricity using a electricity meter which is coin operated you'll perhaps not be glad to know that the xbox power consumption is almost 100 watts. The dc in comparision is 12-18 watts and the ps2 is in theory upto 50 watts but won't use anywhere near that unless you insert a hard drive in the back. So the xbox is taking upto 8x as much juice as the dreamcast and probably about 4 times as much as the ps2 (unless you add the hard drive). In fact it probably consumes more power than your tv. A first for a console I believe.

I have six computers, four desktop computers, a laptop, and a spare (500mhz) PC in the attic.

About a 6 inch cube cut of the wall I think to put it in :)

Well the only thing it has in addition to a normal console is the hard drive. Its not really the hard drive at fault though its the fact the pentium 3 and nvidia chipsets are very power hungry components.

I wonder what the gamecube requirements are? My guess about 40-60 watts.
