Nintendo are considering holding back the UK release date for the Gamecube after fears that it’s launch could cost them millions of pounds in law suits.

Fears were launched last night as Nintendo realised that their release date for the Gamecube comes only 12 days before GCSE, AS and A Level exams begin. Many younger people are fine with the release date as they have not got any exams but for many 16,17,and 18 year olds this release could prove fatal.

After the results of a survey of people buying Gamecubes were released. 90% of people who are getting a Gamecube this close to their exams intend to revise in the week and a bit before while playing the odd game or two, but many critics are scared this will not be the truth and up to 95% of people will leave revising to the last morning so that they could play their Gamecube. Many mums have also expressed their fears about this:
One mother quoted, ‘I’ve told my son that he has got the most important exams of his life coming up but he just won’t do anything. He just sits in front of that computer screen staring and dribbling at this strange logo all day long. He just won’t move!’

The UKMAC (United Kingdom Mothers Against Consoles) have threatened to launch a lawsuit against Nintendo for releasing the console so close to the exams and possibly leading their children into a life of no qualifications and a life on the DOLE.

The government are also threatening to ban the console from being released as to stop the education system from falling into complete chaos. After last years amazing GCSE results proved that the education system is improving, this years results could prove to be a record low and could result in many teachers and government officials being severely embarrassed.
The English education executive issued a warning yesterday to Nintendo stating that this countries education will suffer if they release the Gamecube and unless Nintendo think about holding back the release date, the government would ban the sales of ALL consoles in the country.

Nintendo are taking this very seriously and are expected to comment on whether there will be a new release date in the next day or so. If the console were to be delayed, it would be a massive disappointment for all the fans who have waited ages for the release date but it would save the exam results from becoming an all time low as people may actually revise other than play their Gamecube.

Humm...I have MOCK exams in a couple of weeks, but fortunately that means we have more time off during that week.

I will be getting no GC though, so it doesn't really matter...
