I was considering buying the Sony MZG750 minidisc walkman redorder with built in radio and was wondering, can I record music from a hi-fi that does not have a minidisc player on it? If so, how does it work? Do you need a cable, and is one supplied?

I have a JVC cd/ radio hifi system, and it says in the manual that you are able ot link up to a home Minidisc player. Would this be suitable to record onto a walkman minidisc player?

Minidiscs are wicked. If you've got the right connection (a small-type stereo jack) you can record from anything, as long as it has a headphone socket or suitable output.

Yeah, I sw that on SONY's website. I am going to get either this one or the updated version, as my Birthday is in JUly and that is when I am getting it. I was asking in advance, so i know for sure. Thanks for your help!

Yes, the concept of minidisc "recorders" is that you can record mini discs using your portable player connected to your hifi, rather than having to buy a new hifi. I would assume that they provide the cable.

Do you realise that the player that you are talking about is being replaced by the SONY MZ-G755 in june? might want to hold out for one of those?
