"A riddle for all you intelligent people to ponder over"

My Physics teacher gave me this riddle today. I managed to work it out in a few minutes, whereas Votta hasn't worked it out yet. That means I have a reason to laugh in his face come Monday.

Anyway here it is....

Look at these statements and you are looking for one word used in Physics. That's all the information I got.


Airless flying
Liquidless Flowing
Chances Waves
Pointless Probes


(By the way, I decided to post it in here becuase I am convinced that there is a higher level of intelligence in this forum than in any toher, especially the PS2 one. :-D)

THis is annoying me. I have a funny feeling its something on the lines of friction, it must be!

When I came up with the answer, I made it fit all the statements but that one. I had no idea even when he explained it to me. I think you do it at A-Level and since I'm taking my GCSEs in about 3 weeks, I obviously haven't learned it yet. :-D

Oh and nobody has said it yet.

I can't get something that fits all the statements. The statement 'Chances Waves' means nothing to me. I haven't done Physics in about 5 years.
