An excuse for girls to buy expensive, ugly dresses and shoes and put their hair up... and for boys to go buy their bloody Rangers tartan kilts... all set in a crap hotel, with a crap band and a crap meal...
Guess who doesn't want to go to this?
I don't want to get dressed up and look like a git... kilt? no tux? no... if I do go I'm wearing a crap suit, out of place tie and some trainers that aren't really what you think are trainers... how funny it shall be watching all these people coming out of their hoodies and nike tracksuits and into formal... pathetic.
Of course I don't want to go but at the same time I don't want to be the guy who never went and there is the chance of getting extremely guttered and shouting at people I don't...
I know already if I go I'll look out of place...
Views on this... any old experiences? do tell.
Everyone else will wear them...
I don't think it really fits in with my morals to go all formal...
And basically I don't fancy wearing a skirt whilst guttered
Formal... bah
It's all boring crap and I will rule the night
You wear a kilt?
> Sometimes I hate not being like everyone else... but I rule.
That quote rules! :-D
Anyway, just turn up in a squirrel suit or something, will certainly liven things up....
I just can't be bothered going... just want to go to mate's houses after for lots and lots of drink...
Sitting through a meal with people I don't like being absolutely guttered doesn't really appeal...
I sound like a woman but I don't know what to wear...
Would I look a tt in...
A cool suit... like the Strokes
White shirt
Black Tie
Black Vans/Converx shoes
Sometimes I hate not being like everyone else... but I rule.
5th Form Ball coming up soon, basically a "prom". How annoying.
The thing is, it's going to be seriously crap. First I have to rent a tux, then buy tickets, and then get transport somehow because I live in the middle of nowhere. On top of all that immense cost, the concept of a ball is really poor anyway. It'll be full of guys getting really drunk trying to pull (in a Tux) and generally being arsehols. Did I mention I don't drink? Plus /everyone/ in school will be there, and no one like everyone. It also means there'll be a couple of slappers too, plus a load of third years because we're a year full of peadophiles.
In fact, the only good thing about balls is the after-parties, which I love, but the best ones are held at girl's houses we don't really have anyone in our year that throw good parties. The 6th form ones rules, but our's... don't.
However, I have to make a decision whether to go sooner or later. If I don't go I'll be a "loser" (although about 10 others aren't), and that's just a hassle. If I do go, I'll be down over £100, which I really don't have, and I'll have a miserable time. I suppose I could see if I could just go to a party (too early to say about who's having them), or live in hope of Kate Petty & co (6th formers) filling an obvious gap.
Sigh... peer pressure sucks.
You always get people after the event saying "Do you remember so and so at the School prom?" etc etc and you'll feel gutted if you think youve missed out on something decent.
Once in a life times oppurtunity, as they say... take it
