Super Monkey Ball 2 has been announced. The game will feature over 150 levels with tons of modes, like a new football mode.

Here's some screen shots :-

Metroid Prime new info

Story Line (from IGN)

Prime starts where the SNES version left off. In the SNES version you thought you destroyed all the Metroids? Think again. Pieces of exlposion from Planet Zebes are flying through space. On one of these pieces is a single living Metroid. This piece lands on a world called Taron and it just gets worse from there. That is all that is new as far as the storyline goes. Watch for more on Metroid Prime in the future.

Seaman type game coming to Cube (from www.gamecubexl.com)

{for the people who don't know Seaman was this virtual pet thing on the Dreamcast that you could talk to! I've got it, it's quite ammusing!}

In the recent issue of Famitsu, the president of the company that created Seaman spoke briefly about the possibility of a new game based on the Seaman engine for the GameCube.

The latest issue of Famitsu featured an interview with Saito-san, the president of Vivarium (the company that developed Seaman). When asked about Nintendo, Saito-san said that they are currently discussing with Nintendo about collaborating on a very different type of game based on the Seaman engine and mechanics. Here is what he said:

“All the things we learned from the Seaman project and its game engine, we would like to use it to develop a different kind of game. We are in the process of talking to Nintendo if this would fit with Nintendo’s projects. However, the game will be very different from Seaman. We are still in the planning stages.”

At launch I'm getting Wave Race, Rogue Leader, and Tony Hawk 3. Also getting Resident Evil when that comes out.

The Gamecube launch games are alright, but there really isn't any killer aps. There's no Mario 64, no brilliant racer or beat-em-up. I just hope that those types of games get released soon, because that is what will pull in quite a few more consumers.

I had Melee', but swapped it for Wave Race, as I just could not get into it. But, amidst constant pleas to give it one last try, I may end up picking it up at some point in the future.

Aside from ISS2, there's not really much at launch I want (or don't already have).

My mates got an import Gamecube and I've played Wave Race on that quite a bit. It's a great game! I just hope that in the UK version they call the Buoy's "boys" not "booies"!!! That just annoyed me that did! "Pass the red booies on the left! Pass the yellow booies on the right!" AAARRRRR!

I want ISS2 as well. I had ISS64 and that's my fav football game out of the last gen of consoles, so I'm awaitin' for the new version!

Smash Bros Melee doesn't bother me that much. It's an ok game I surpose, but I prefer normal beat-em-ups to that one. I guess I haven't played it enough. I might buy it one day, but i'm not going to be rushing out to buy it the day it comes out!

You'll love it then!! I played the N64 one a couple of times, didn't really float my boat, but I really enjoyed the GameCube incarnation.

I'm anticipating ISS2 at the moment, as in light of recent events I fully intend to invest in a PAL model now too to sit alongside my import machine.

May *even* pick up Smash Bros Melee again, give it one more chance, see if it can grow on me.

That's what I'm really waiting for. Wave Race! I luved the N64 version and can't wait to get my hands on my own copy of the Gamecube version.

The same mate. Until it's been played in single-player, you'll find yourself "just having one more go..." until you've beaten a certain floor.

But, Wave Race is a close second for me, with Luigi's in third.

Best title?

Dunno! It's probably the best multiplayer title, but for single player gamin' what's your best title at present?

I must say, even though the Monkey Ball 2 images are poor scans - I was left impressed with the new images and look forward to the next incarnation of this. Mind you, I love the first one and I still maintain it's the GameCube's best title at present. :)
