I've always wanted to be a skateboarder. I dress in that kind of gippo style and I say 'cool' as lot, so I'm bound to be good at it - but I can't afford a board to break my neck on :(

So my solution is this:
Whilst walking home from the town today I saw some strips of metal that are used to wheel bikes into a subway type thing. So I ran, and jumped, and slid down the metal on my shoes. It felt cool. I had done something that I would probably have killed myself doing on a skateboard and it didn't look stupid either. The only problem was that it was a bit slow. So my invention is strips of metal that attach to the soles of your shoes and you can run, jump and grind things - anywhere and everywhere! I shall call them 'Sole-surfers', and I really am thinking about doing something about it.

Think about it. They would be so cheap to make and sell, and would work on the same principle as skateboarding, except it's YOU doing the running - not the board. That for me is the great thing. You don't have to worry about balance, ollying, or any of the stupid crap that comes with skateboarding. You just run, jump and grind. Yes! That can be the tagline - 'Run, Jump & Grind'. I can see it now. I bet some bright spark has already thought of it though.

Seriously, does anyone know a way I could do something about this? I think it's a really good idea and could potentially be loads of fun. You could even make some that are ice skates as well.

Yeah, but with mine you could wear whatever trainers you wanted. Imagine when it becomes an Olympic event, the sponsorship deals from Nike and Adidas would be enormous.

Ah yeah! Sonic the Hedgehog has those.

No, really.

And this also answers Snuggly's question. People are paying that $100 or whatever for shoes with metal on the bottom.

Yeah, I thought someone else would have stolen my idea and travelled back in time with it. $99 though! I was thinking of little plasticy/metal devices that could fit onto the bottom of any shoe and would be really cheap.

He could use the time stamp from this place (on his post) to proove he came up with the idea first... and then this post to proove that you intended to nick it? :)

Yep, thats a really great invention.

Would of been better if they hadn't already been thought of about 3 years ago...
