After Microsoft's Xbox price cut today, I wondered how many PS2 owners have got one or intend to get one? And who's going for a GC? Anyone for all three? And more to the point, how does the PS2 fit into your multiconsole plans?

For me it will be the Gamecube and not the X box, as wev'e discussed here before, the X box seems to be aimed at the same market as the PS2 with the same kind of games, yes some of them may look, play better, I dont know but there is not enough out now or on the horizon that appeals enough to warrant buying one for.

The GC on the other hand has games that are different - it is a difficult one to quantify I know but there are more game coming out for GC that appeal so that will be my choice for next console.

The PS2 and GC will sit next to each other in harmony under the tele and will both be used as and when...

I would't get the X-BoX even for the price cut - I think it's cutting its price for competitive edge or better still - theyve not been selling as well as hoped.

in our terminolgy: Ripped people off now to make it cheaper to sell more.

Im sticking with my PS 2 because it has and a great range of games already and coming out in the future.

If I were to get another console it would be a GC not an X, simply because I rate nintendo more and I like platformers and Nintendo are generally good @ making them

I already have an Xbox, bought for the £299.

I don't regret buying it, but I'm hoping that this price drop kicks it into gear.

I have three games for it - Halo, Project Gotham Racing and Munch's Oddysee - and I'm struggling at the moment to find two games to claim for my 'compensation', even after looking through SR's entire Xbox games list. The extra controller is also irrelevent, as I bought an extra one with the machine, and rarely have more than two players at a time anyway (which is why the PS2's two controller ports have never been an issue for me).

On the PS2 side of things, there are no games immediately that I want, but more than ten due before the end of the year, most of which are PS2 exclusives.

Quite frankly, there is no way in hell I would trade in my PS2 at the moment.

I think i am almost now set on trading in my ps2 in with some games for an xbox, games like halo appeal to me, and there are many others like doa3 that do too, i will still have another ps2 though as my brother also has one, looks like this price cut has come at the right time, for me at least :)

I'm going for a Gamecube. There isn't many games on the x-box that appeal to me, most just seem to be conversions, but the GC has some impressive games on the way.
