But if Jennifer Lopez was standing at the front of a Special Reserve store shouting, "Get your Microsoft Train Simulator Here!" I think Id reconsider.
Why? Because she's fit.... She'd be like a magnet, attracting every male towards her within a 3-mile radius. You see her, you see the game, and the temptation to buy overpowers the fact you know the game is crap. The whole experience would be a like an amazing hallucination, until you get home and realise you’ve bought Microsoft Train Simulator.
Now picture the same scenario, but swap Jennifer Lopez for, say Mo Molan…..Not a pretty site is it, and certainly wouldn’t make me buy Microsoft Train Simulator.
So, attractive females can sell games. They’re spread across most magazines (literally spread in some cases) holding the latest PS2 or PC game. Do you really think J Lo goes home every night and plays on her Xbox? She might go home and play with something else, but certainly not a games console.
So companies pay women to advertise their games in attempt to attract the male consumer to buy their games. Is this why we don’t get many female gamers? Is this why people stereotype male and females that play games? I’m not saying that we should start seeing naked men advertising games, HELL NO, but I do think that females should be given more promotion within the gaming industry, which they most certainly aren’t at present.
So, we’ve established that “chicks” can sell computer games, but has a knock on effect that puts female gamers off. Is there a way Marketing personnel can advertise games, in a way that attracts both male and female consumers?
Lets give you a little example, and get your tiny little brain into action. Take a look at this, very well known advert: http://images.reserve.co.uk/www/public/images/art/bikiniladies.gif
The above advert is in my top 10 list of all time great adverts (I’m not that sad, I don’t really have a list.. honest) Obviously males are going to respond to the advert by buying box loads of RAM just for the fun of it, but do you think it appeals to the female audience? Probably, but that’s not the point!
How would you change the advert to make it more appealing to both males and females?
Give it pink writing, and add a few cute little bunnies? Maybe…. Or perhaps we could mix the 2 ideas together and have pink writing, with women dressed in cute little bunny outfits?
Take a little looky: http://www.geocities.com/dav1dthedude/bikiniladies.jpg
Heh Heh, maybe that will persuade more women to buy ram….
** Live Interview **
Dav1d: Hello Mystique
Mystique: Hey Big Boy
Dav1d: Would you ever buy ram?
Mystique: What’s ram?
Dav1d: OK, next question…
Mystique: huh
Dav1d: What do you think of game adverts containing provocative women?
Mystique: I’d prefer monkeys
Dav1d: OK, that’s enough, Thanks for the interview Myst
Mystique: But I want to talk about monkeys
Dav1d: Thankyou, and good bye
Mystique: grrrrr visit my website www.monkeywinkels.tk then!
**************
Well that’s summed it all up hasn’t it. Make adverts more appealing to women, by including monkeys in them.
Thanks for Reading,
Dav1d

Good good. Well done.
But what about this....
"But you're not gonna help me are you? That's real big of you! Little!"

That film quote my son is from Mission Impossible 2 said by the great Tony Hopkins :)

Yes, I agree with this Squeeky fella, that was a nice picture.
Good topic all the same though. Don't worry I'll point Mystique in the direction of it.
I suppose Lara Croft in Tomb Raider is a way of indirect advertising. And Using Angelina Jolie in the Tomb Raider film has boosted the popularity in the name even further...Next Tomb Raider game should sell quite a bit methinks...
Give this man a GAD cos he rules!

Is that actually a rule? If so, I'd better spread my reviews out a bit more. :-D

She's a woman. She has all the qualifications she needs. :-D
I tell you what, what film is this from and who says it:
"What? Go to bed with a man and lie to him? She's a woman she has all the training she needs."
