Good evening people

After a brief spell of absence (As well as SlaveUnits), I have finally returned to the Web forum..
Main reason for absence, the corporate doom of WebSense, the filter from hell, the program of internet censorship... but thanks to finally giving in to getting a PC at home, I am now able to return to the forum...

**I vcan feel the shudders from here**

So now I'm back, I need to catch up on events...

Is Funkygamer still about?
Has View & Play finally died a death?
Is Turbo still preaching PHP and Linux (Soon to become a convert myself!)
Has anyone produced a site worth looking at yet?

Questions, questions, questions...

Bring me up to date guys...

In my life... Currently working on two new corporate websites as well as my own. Picking up XML, xSLT, PHP, and soon, Linux! And getting to grips with a 56k home connection (I miss my 4MB Pipe!!) And as for Windows 98!!! Arghhhh!!!

ARGH! GODDAMN IT NO IT'S NOT FRIGGIN' LINUX BASED SHUTUP SHUTUP SHUTUP!!!

It's *based* on Unix which is *not* Linux, in the same way that BSD and BeOS are not Linux! Same principles, but really quite different. Mac is based upon Unix, and does indeed have a text-based interface that's quite powerful, but the defalt shell is different and it doesn't include GNU applications.

Anyway... LEEDS!!! I live near there! Where abouts in Leeds?

Er, yep, but certainly missed your early-morning posts Tyla.

Main fun has been "Gar-J", I hope you have read the "post your portfolio" thread, I tried to bring some calm sense to the proceedings, but it all went a bit Pete Tong, so I thought discretion was the better part of valour and left everybody to the flame wars, it was entertaining though.

Sounds interesting, XML is cool, you just make up your own tags and off you go ;) What is xSLT though?

In my life, I'm just about to move to Leeds having spent 2 or 3 months trying to find a house, oh, and some crazy invester with a copy of Frontpage '98 is bringing the company I work for to it's knees with bad publicity, and I'm just waiting for the next IT staff culling season. But hey, I hope to contact you after I have moved house with regards to the corp ID stuff, probably just business cards and letterheads for now though. Once I have settled in and got myself sorted in my new house, I'll need your skills.

Mwahahaha, *NOTE TO SELF: must get broadband ASAP* How come you didn't get a Mac then? It's all Linux based now isn't it?

Hello Tyle, welcome back :o).

You and I didn't really talk much before, so maybe we should change that in the new General Chat Thread :O). Good to see you about again, always did like reading your stuff.

Shame you missed the big fight with Gar-J (or something like that) would have been great to see you mix it up a bit and add your unique touch, lol.

Erm..discussed a community site a bit, had various arguments, I ventured out of this forum, got scared by the newbies and came crying back..

And on the personal front, I got 1mbit cable, which is nice =)

4Mb! heh, well, sadly Tom's aparently lost all intrest in making anthing out of V&P guess it was because hes friend didn't have enough time to make the script for it, shame.

How could you be all this time without a PC at your home? your a webdesigner, I thought it would be standard kit, one in every room or something, obviously not but hope you enjoy it.

XML... i'm trying to figure this out myself, can you enlighten me on what it's about, i've been searching the web this afternoon and havn't found out much about it, looks quite decent though.
