I haven't given up gaming, I just haven't the time! Fair enough I spend a lot of my time online, but that's because sometimes I can be on for an hour, whereas I may only be able to have a quick go. There is a reason why I've had to put my gaming on hold, and that's because of school.
I am losing the time to enjoy myself for the chance to get a few grades on a piece of paper. Right now it seems hardly worth it but I am hoping that this temporary sacrafice of gaming will be worthwhile in helping me to get a better job, to have some decent training and to make enough money to keep me gaming.
Right now I miss being able to put a disc into my computer to defeat those pesky russian's with their trained squids and their 'Iron Curtain' trying to conquer Europe and the world. I miss being able to pick up a controller and start defeating dinosoid armies who are trying to wipe out the human race. I miss being able to pick up my Game Boy to help Mario save the princess!
Thankfully, the exams will be over in middle June (AS-level) and I will be able to return to gaming temporarily whilst I rest through the summer break. No more will I have to make gaming a second priority (except when nature calls) and no more will I have to stay up to the early hours of the morning finishing a long overdue project.
I honestly don't know how some people do it. How they get the chances to go out and enjoy themselves when faced with the same projects, essays and the likes, when I'm stuck at home with pen in hand, writing how the Palm Oil industry was important to Britain in the 19th Century, or how a complex system on a computer works, or how many quark particles there are in an atom.
I wish I could return to the age where I could just come home from school and not have to worry about homeworks and assignments, where pressures weren't so high from teachers, where I could have some fun!
I'm not saying work is easy, I'm sure most of the older members here have had their fair share of work-stress. It's amazing how some people manage to cope through the most stressful of times.
So there we are. I miss gaming and wish I could be a kid again.
And I did that Key Skills thing at the start of they year.
12 weeks of complete and utter BOREDOM!!
All we did each lesson was basically copy out text from some boring booklets onto the computer! And also learn how to use spreadsheets and stuff like that - which you learn in Maths in Year 7!
I really didn't see the point in it, there's nothing 'key' about it! And you don't learn any NEW 'skills' either!
Honestly, I think i've learnt a lot more from these forums!!
I got a C for English and also a C for Lit., even though my coursework was at A-/B+. But I did bad in my English exam as a forgot my Animal Farm book I needed! And I was predicted a B. :(
I've only really found time for games this year because i'm only doing 3 subjects: Art, DT Graphics and Art Graphics. But there's still a whole lot of coursework envolved there!!
I have no doubt that after i've done my exams, it'll be extremey hard to get away from my GameCube, Dreamcast and N64! :D

Must've been something to do with my actual exam....and my coursework......
Oh, that's practically everything :)

Towards the end of the year we just didn't bother handing in some coursework at all
Probably why I only got a C in Lit, but at least I got a B in language :) I must've done well in my exams and what little coursework I did, because my oral exams were pants, and I do mean pants. Even though I'm a drama student I was poop, and got Ds for all of them
