The rather interesting reply was that the one to go for was the X-box as it is the most powerful. What about the Playstation 2 she asked - well that's past it now really was the educated reply. The X-box is well ahead of it now and the Gamecube will be out in a few weeks and that has much better games.
Well now you know everyone - you might as well face up to it and start trading in those PS2's.
Why the hell do EB employ these clowns ????
I don't agree with that statement because
A) X-Box has Re-released most of the PS 2 games again and ive played
the game cube in some high street stores and it is similar in graphics and gameplay to what the PS 2 & X-Box offers
B) Nintendo are known for their profound development of Platformers (better than Sony or Microsoft)
It will be interesting in the 'console wars' industry in the next few years.
but I dont think you can say some is going to be a'anihilated' even before it has been released.
In my oppinion the X-BOX does have the better release callendar, but the PS2's is also fantastic but does not interest me as much.
The Game Cube will be anhilated by both the PS2 and X-BOX as all it has done is copy all the good games from both consoles BADLY!
If I could I would keep my PS2 but I can not afford to buy the X-BOX and keep my PS2, but the console is a great challenger to the X-BOX even though it is not my choice.
Thankyou for reading!
If mr.EB-boy has been targeted with shifting 'x' (pun) consoles in a month, and he qualifies for some bonus - then what do you think he will recommend ?
What is more likely is that his manager has been tasked with increasing XBOX revenue - and that has been communicated downwards.
Worry not - PS2 is here for a while yet. Look at the sales.
I read in a completely non-games magazine the other day that Nintendo have confirmed 25,000 presales in the first week for GC. They anticipate doubling this. 50,000... errr. That's not much.
Think back (those of use who got a release day machine) There were 180,000(?) PS2s and you could not get one for love nor money !
How about the XBox ? You could buy one on day one , anywhere.
Yes , there were plenty available - but I suspect that it was also linked to demand....
Anyway - I digress. Point is that PS2 is perfectly safe - the sales exceed any other console currently out there, so if mr.EB-boy wants to make a couple of quid on selling an Xbox - then who cares ?
M.
1) EB are a bunch of idiots
2) EB are a bunch of iditots who havent played eithee of the consoles despite working in a game store - dio i rest my case?
