I'm guessing that there's quite a wide range of age groups on this forum, so (hopefully) there'll be a few different views on porn.

What do you think of it, basically? Not in a "Phwoar! Look at her t**s!" type way, but in a kind of "deeper" (probably not the right word) way.

So, porn, is it art? Some people believe so. If half a cow stuck in a tank of goo can be art, then I feel that photo's of beautiful women can be art as well.

They used to paint naked women all the time, anyone who's been to an art gallery will see pictures of nude women and men. Most "religous" pictures of people in heaven depict the humans as being nude. Is this porn?

If not, why are photos of nude people in magazines classed as porn where you have to be over 18 to see it, but paintings are not and can be seen by anyone who goes into an art gallery?

Are there any parents on here? If so, what are your opinions on your kids looking at porn? Would there be an age where it would be acceptable for them to view porn, but before this it's a no-no?

Would you rather they saw a porn film, which is basically two consenting adults enjoying a natural pleasure, than them watching a rambo film with deaths left right and centre?

Would there be a worry for you of your kids getting insensitive to porn? They see so much of it that they need more and more, or harder and harder to get the same arousal from it?

A bad analogy, but it's maybe like curry? You start off with the normal, and it's too hot. You can't eat much. However, you have it a few more times, and you accept it. Then afer a few more times it's not enough, you need to move up to something hotter. Would this be a worry for you?

I hope that people can take this thread seriously and not degenerate into pre-pubescent laughter "ha ha, he said "porn" ha ha" type stuff.

Cheers.

Religion portrays people as naked because thats what we start out as.
And paintings take skill, but stuff on the internet is hardly art, is it?
(not that I would know of course...why do I always find myself saying that?)

Its to do with life! There was a program on ITV recently about this. With the paintings, if the person being painted stayed still, it was fine. But if she moved, it was porn!

Of course it's not.

People just think it is when they are pathetic and immature.

Porn is part of our society whether we like it or not, and with the internet getting more and more available to kids every day it could well be a worry for parents.

I was hoping my message could start of a decent discussion, but I should have known some one pathetic would come along and not understand it.

Which ever way you look at it porn is here to stay, open page 3 in the sun and what do you find? PORN.

that brings me onto another point if i can buy the son at the age of 13, why the hell cant i buy loaded or something like that.

if you ask me it's about time the bloody government seriously thought a bout the definition of the word PORN, because it aint realy a bad thing.
