I'm guessing that there's quite a wide range of age groups on this forum, so (hopefully) there'll be a few different views on porn.

What do you think of it, basically? Not in a "Phwoar! Look at her t**s!" type way, but in a kind of "deeper" (probably not the right word) way.

So, porn, is it art? Some people believe so. If half a cow stuck in a tank of goo can be art, then I feel that photo's of beautiful women can be art as well.

They used to paint naked women all the time, anyone who's been to an art gallery will see pictures of nude women and men. Most "religous" pictures of people in heaven depict the humans as being nude. Is this porn?

If not, why are photos of nude people in magazines classed as porn where you have to be over 18 to see it, but paintings are not and can be seen by anyone who goes into an art gallery?

Are there any parents on here? If so, what are your opinions on your kids looking at porn? Would there be an age where it would be acceptable for them to view porn, but before this it's a no-no?

Would you rather they saw a porn film, which is basically two consenting adults enjoying a natural pleasure, than them watching a rambo film with deaths left right and centre?

Would there be a worry for you of your kids getting insensitive to porn? They see so much of it that they need more and more, or harder and harder to get the same arousal from it?

A bad analogy, but it's maybe like curry? You start off with the normal, and it's too hot. You can't eat much. However, you have it a few more times, and you accept it. Then afer a few more times it's not enough, you need to move up to something hotter. Would this be a worry for you?

I hope that people can take this thread seriously and not degenerate into pre-pubescent laughter "ha ha, he said "porn" ha ha" type stuff.

Cheers.

I can't get attracted to someone that I don't know.

It's just about impossible for me, sometimes I do wonder. When all the other 'men' shout about how sexy this woman is, I just look at her and see another pair of breasts, pretty big usually, and a nice body. I'm not in the slightest bit aroused by the picture.

Same with porn. Has hardly any effect. Bunch of women showing the bits you don't see. All usually very ugly women.

But for me, I really have to get to know that girl, talk to them. It's more of an emotional link that a physical one with me.

Which is why I don't like porn.

(And probably why Naughty Housewives is such a popular mens mag. Apparently.)

Why?

(Because all the women can be related to. They look like people you might know, instead of the lip sticked "I'm a sex symbol" women that have, in effect, no brains.)

You sound like a feminist.

(I'm a brain. I'll be happy to shag anyone.)

I know.

But I can have *some* sort of attraction to people I don't know that well, but then, I see beauty in the eyes and face, not in the breasts and curves.

(Are you sure you're a man? This all sounds very poncy.)

Shut up.

Like Goatboy said, the novelty of it soon wears off

Not saying I still don't have a look every so often though ;-)

I wouldnt class Porn as art but dont see that there is any problem with it provided the act/acts are carried out between consenting adults....and by this I dont mean heroin addicted prostitutes who are being tempted by bags of smack being waved around.

I dont think kids should watch it for the same reason I dont think kids should watch films with an 18 certificate. Some are easily influenced and with this in mind its best if they stear clear until they are old enough to understand fully what is going on.

Incidentally - what is everyones porn name? To get this take the name of your first pet as the chistian name and your mothers maiden name as the surname.

Mine = Knocker Frost......interesting!

When we first got the net, way before all this AnyTime nonsense was around, we were on AOL and all I did, was go into those chat rooms. Then, I went into Yahoo ones. But, I find them beyond annoying, now. In fact, I can't stand all this A/S/L. Does it really matter? The Bill came in at the end of that month at £279. Oops.

Then, you go onto the porn and everything, but the only thing I now do on the net, is download programs, music, speak to people on MSN and come on here now and then.

Yep.
The initial "Hur hur, naked people" thing of having the net at home soon wore off and became "Uh-huh, another pic of some people having sex."

Sad thing is, instead of looking for porno, my time is spent downloading patches for games and music now.

Maybe that's what being an adult means, you spend time online downloading childish things, whilst "kids" spend their time downloading "adult" stuff like porno?

Porn is bad if you've been watching a porn video, and it's got stuck, and the local guy that fixes video's just happens to be the husband of a teacher at your school though, as happened to a friend of mine.
