MS Bing maps EOL'd their maps version 6.3 during the week (I think it was the 23rd August). It's been depreciated for a while but I've had my head in the sand :¬P
For those in the same situation as me here's a good starting point:

With the very old version of Virtual Earth (Bing Maps) you didn't need to sign up for an API KEY.
This meant that people using maps like this didn't receive any notifications. Signing up for a KEY which is now mandatory with both Microsoft and Google Maps means that notifications should reach you. Obviously this also makes things easier to control for MS and Google.
