In 1555, Nostradamus predicted:

> The village idiot will come forth

This is an exact prediction of the U.S. election in 2000! I like the bit about the village idiot! We all love George W. Bush really...

I will be regarded as the Nostradamus of the 2000 era.
For my scarily accurate predictions that will come true in 2184 or thereabouts:

From the South will come a big kitten dressed like the garden, and the horses will gallop through cloudy mint.

And in the 2nd annum, pearly seas of brick will turn to lemon jelly.


Doesn't make much sense now, but you wait and see.

Nostradamus was a total fraud. All his prophecies are so vague that they could be attributed to anyone or anything.

In this case, the "greatest power" is only the USA if you're of that persuasion. China is another "great power" that had a change of leadership in 2000, as it was also the year that Osama probably planned 9/11.....

Everyone who beleives in this junk has a problem - cna you tell any of us what a prophecy means BEFORE the event happens ? Er....nope !

True, the Nostradamus things are very generalised, and could be applied to many things - but you have to admit, some of them occasionally seem eerily accurate.

I think it is all too easy to interpret what he says into something that has actually happened, i dont really believe he had any power which allowed him to read the future.
