SONY thought of something so why can't they, it could have gone into the top of the console or something different but NINTENDO are not good enough and know that the PS2 is a lot more successful than any of their previous consoles and they want a piece of it for themselves, damn you NINTENDO it is about time you dissappeared!

Yes indeed - I suppose you could have a kind of telescopic arm thing that was automaticaly ejected from the top of the console everytime you wanted to do a save. It would certainly be different.
