I say that gamecube is the best console coming out, because ninty didn;t spend all their money trying to put in a dvd player, and they consentated on the games.

To everyone - Gamecube does not need MGS2! its not that good a game and plus we are getting our very own sort of game from Konami! Bah we shouldnt live on handout ports like the X-Box does! Anyone read this months 'Cube' Magazine? Well theres an interesting article on Mario in it, its a great read. Plus they brought up the point of there not being many Nintendo produced games at all. But we can be assured they are making some brilliant games. Lets just be patient, Nintendo wont let us down.

People keep saying that. Why?
In no way does not having a DVD player make the console better.
Microsoft and Sony spending all their money on a DVD player? Do you know who owns microsoft? Do you know how much money the guy has? He is the richest person in the world (90% sure). If he dropped a 100 dollar note on the floor he wouldnt even pick it up.
Sony arent exactly poor either. They could afford to put in a DVD player with their bank interest.
DVD player = good thing. Before someone says something about how games machines dont need them... Yeah they dont need them but having one is better than not having one. Stop treating it like its a flaw.
Now before someone calls me a nintendo hater... Im not. Im also not so obsessed that I have to worship everything one company does and verbally abuse everything the others do. I have no problem with any of the three consoles but the stuff that some people post is pathetic. I go by the truth not the brand name.

A console doesnt makes the games. The games make the console. Think of a console as a limitation. The games can be as good as the console allows them to be. Now for the love of god everyone stop with these totaly pointless 'fanboy' comments.
Got carried away but Im sick of reading rubbish thats just bashing the other consoles.

Nah, Konami have already disappointed me with HJurasic Park III: The DNA Factor
calling all nintendo fans, email konami any konami japanese american eiropean and tell them that we want mgs2 for gamecube, hideo kojim asan creator of mgs series said on a recent game network programme that if the consumers desire the need for mgs2 for another platform i will make it but only if there is a high demand. xbox is getting metal gear solid x so com on dont let the big n down as newcomers xbox have their own version of mgs we need ours . so go and let konami hera us all

I have no choice to agree, because your statement is flawed. Gamecube is the ONLY console coming out, as all the others ARE out.
The lack of DVD doesn't mean they concentrated on the games. They did it simply to cut costs, and the story of "dedicated to games" is a marketing scam designed to suck you all in. It worked!!
Seriously though, I am glad of the lack of DVD and CD playing aspects - I never used them on my PS2 or XBox anyway.
