REDMOND, Wash. - April 8, 2002 - Hailed widely as "video game of the year" and recipient of multiple industry awards for excellence, "Halo(tm): Combat Evolved" has earned the distinguished honour of being the fastest million-unit seller ever for any next-generation console. According to NPDFunworld, the definitive source for toy and video games industry sales data, "Halo: Combat Evolved" recently crossed the magical 1 million mark in sales in the United States and Canada. Statistically, this means that more than six copies of "Halo: Combat Evolved" have been sold every minute of every day since its launch on Nov. 15, 2001.
"Halo: Combat Evolved" also has played a major role in helping the Xbox(tm) video game system from Microsoft Corp. set additional key sales records in the United States in just four months following its launch. The following milestones put Xbox on pace for long-term, worldwide success:
With nearly four games sold for every system purchased, Xbox has a higher attach rate than any next-generation console. Data shows that in the four-month period following the launch of Xbox, owners purchased 1.2 more games with their Xbox system than PlayStation 2 owners did, helping Xbox achieve 82 percent more software sales than PlayStation 2.
In just four months, Xbox has already catapulted to the No. 2 position among current game console sales.
Since its launch, Xbox has outperformed PlayStation 2 sales by 25 percent when comparing system sales during the first four months of each on the market.
Looking good ;)

Pure coincidence :) Faith isnt in the game which is a shame.

Intended pun, or coincidence? :-)

Depends what your after. If your a big fan of Buffy get that, its a sort of side scrolling beat em, maybe a bit Tomb Raider aswell. Looks good, and has been delayed to sort out some dodgy frame rates. The game will be very faith full to the television series. All the characters from Season 3, Angel, Cordy, Dru, Spike, Xander, Willow, Giles will be in the game, all with the actors doing there voices. The motion capture has been done by Sarahs actual stunt double. Writers and producers of the show have had lots of input with the game. So if your a Buffy fan then this will be the game to get.

We shall see.
I've yet to see anything in there that PS2 couldn't do. The levels in Halo are large, but there's not much variation in textures within each level.

The Xbox appears to struggle (only slightly) with some of the larger levels of Halo, though. In the Library levels, I've noticed distinct pauses when moving forwards with a number of enemies around. They're only momentary and don't disrupt the game, but they're there nonetheless.

I'm currently trying to decide between Wolfenstein or Project IGI 2 on PC, or Buffy on Xbox as a GAD prize! Advice?

Strongly rumoured by who? The same mag that said Halo could bo done on the PS2.
Sorry but the PS2 physically cant do Halo because of the lack of video memory availabe.
It would have to be a cut down version.
The PS2 could only barely manage the Assault levels in UT, they are tiny compared to those on Halo.>

Yep medal of hounour is good, in my opinion Wolfenstein has more of an atmosphere. Max payne has more innovations and Alien Versus Predator 2 is far bigger ans frightening.
