I read Grix's 'I have no love for the forum anymore' topic and whilst finding myself agreeing with most of what was said, something was missing. I am still a relative newcomer to this site, and I would like to put forward a point of view that seems to have been forgotten.

With all the talk of a forum dedicated to the people that used to make the forums a special place, I am worried that there won't be oportunities for others, like myself, who don't spam, don't post unneccessary topics, and don't clog up the forums. I for one have always tried to post properly, try and encourage and debate and put forward thought provoking opinions (as hopefully some of you will have seen if you've read my posts) yet I feel like, because I am a relative newcomer to the site, I am being included with the new 'lot' that have ruined the forums.

Don't get me wrong, I am not disputing the fact that FOG has been ruined (because it undoubtedly has) or that you guys don't dserve to be notables or haven't made the forums a great place (because again you undoubtedly have), its just that there are people out there that want to talk about games, have discussion, and have a laugh. I am 18 and don't want to get into mindless 'PS2 is crap' topics - I just want to post and most of all, have fun. I just hope some of you recognise that amidst the mire of mediocrity we currently preside in.

One idea could be for the people actually interested in talking about games etc. in a proper manner abandoning Chat and moving to Prime, and renaming Chat 'General' or something. That way all the newbies or JAT's can spam to their hearts content and the serious talk can take place in Prime. And believe me, if no-one was there to get annoyed, the spam would dry up very quickly.

Oh, and Grix, I don't hide my face, I'm actually on here most nights

:-)

I read topics that sound interesting or are by people I like to read.

The rest are like looking at pics drawn by a friend's 2yr old:

And I'll state again because nobody ever reads my posts either... ;0)

The "I have no love" topic was scripted. While the beliefs are true, I had no intention of leaving. I simply wanted to stir up a fuss, so we could work together to make the forums better.

If I had simply said "The forums suck, what can we do?", I'd had got a load of replies, but no action. We DID really get a bit of action from saying I'm leaving, but it didn't last that long.

It's a lot better since then, though.

Check the date on that on that "I have no love" topic before commenting about my outlook again, please Shaneo.

People like you, RM18, are exactly the reason I don't want to have a forum that's password protected for "elite" members. There are some great people still out there, and just kinda refuse to really show their face, and you can't blame them. I really am quite biased when it comes to reading topics... there's so many to read, I usually just keep to the people I know, or the titles that really do interest me.

It's not really because I think I'm special, or any crap like that, it's just I haven't got the time or energy to read every single topic... and experience tells me that half of them won't need the bother anyway, when you can tell exactly what's going to be written in the topic just by what the title says.

Yes, I can see a lot of people thinking that. But you will notice that if you post well and get on with everyone, then you will be respected. I mean, people like Stryke and Mr Happy haven't been here all that long (not compared to some of us anyway). I mean, even Sniper only turned up halfway through what some would call "The Great Era," which was around late 2000 I reckon. But now look, both of them are candidates for being Notables.

So don't worry about it, and hey, you make a good contribution to the WWF Forum, proving that there are some smart WWF fans out there. {:)

These forums have been ruined by the influx of newbies (and washed up Regulars) who come in and post total shate, in the process clogging the forum up with topics that nobody wants to read. I am not blameless, with all my past copying and such like, but there are people who make this forum special. They don't neccessarily have to be the best poster around or have the most amazing litterary skills, but if they can make us laugh, present an interesting argument or do something for us, then he can't be half bad. If all the 'nice guys' had the same outlook as Grix, then we'd be left with the spammers, and this forum would deteroirate until is practically and socially dead.

So please, stay with this forum!

I used to spam a little in the longest thread for the sony forum but i realised that it was sssooooo stupid so i stopped and then a few days later i see myself with a GAD.

I do also now like to post good topics and things that you said and just hate idiots that are clogging up the forums and talking about rubbish.

I dont think we are treated like those who spam and everything though and even though we are both relatively new to SR i think we are treated pretty good.

Well i certainly arent treated bad by people as ive made a couple new friends here and have a good talk to them. Like yourself and MoJoJoJo.

Anyway,
Have to go.
