This morning Nintendo Stars announced that they would go on strike after being overworked by Shigeru Miyamoto. Mario was especially upset.
"I've been-a working with-a Shigsy all-a my life, but now he wants-a every Nintendo character to make-a 3 games by the end-a of 2003. After I-a just finished Super Mario Sunshine I was-a promised a vacation, as-a every other character was-a promised after their first-a GameCube outings."
Pikmin also said, in a puddle of tears "Bibble de beep de doop do, de se dop dee!" Something that touched the hearts of all game characters.
But not all characters went on strike, there was one who stood by Shigsy, partly because he can't talk, but he also had very small parts in his upcoming titles. Now he's going to star in a whole variety of new games. He's a classic Mario enemy who's starred in most games. He goes by the name of Goomba.
Here is his full software line up for late 2002 to 2003:
GOOMBA KONG
The evil, deformed Goomba, called Goomba Kong, has stolen the Princess Goomba and locked her in a cage. It's your job to play as Goomba and make your way up the platforms as Goomba Kong throws barrels at you, trying to force you away from the cage. As the levels progress the barrels get faster and faster and the game becomes a lot harder.
SUPER GOOMBA BROS.
The evil King Goomba has kidnapped Princess Goomba it's up to the Goomba Bros. to save the day. You get to choose whether you want to play as Goomba or Goomba. You have to go through a variety of levels, jumping on the heads of the evil Goomba clan to defeat them. But that's not all. Brand new power ups can be used for your advantage. When you collect a Green Goomba you will become bigger, a Red Goomba will give you the ability to fire red balls at your enemy and the highly rare Gold Goomba will make you invincible. On your way you will come across some bosses such as Goomba, Goomba and even the King Goomba!
SUPER GOOMBA BROS. 2
The second Goomba Bros. outing gives you the chance to play as 4 different characters, instead of the usual 2. The 4 playable characters are Goomba, Goomba, Goomba and, of course, Goomba. This time around you have to throw Goomba fruit at the evil Goomba army to destroy them. There will be one face you'll see throughout. This beast is called Goomba. Each different character has there own weaknesses and strengths. For example Goomba is a good jumper because she can use her dress to float, but Goomba is a bad jumper because he is small and fat. You'll pick up everybody’s strengths and weaknesses as you progress and in some cases certain characters will be needed to do certain tasks.
SUPER GOOMBA BROS. 3
The Goomba Bros. have gone back to there roots and improved on their outing in Super Goomba Bros. With an even bigger world and more enemies, you'll be playing this game for years to come. With an even bigger variety of items to help you on your quest. Including the Frog Goomba, Racoon Goomba and Super Racoon Goomba!
SUPER GOOMBA WORLD
Goomba and Goomba are back! This time another huge world that needs to be beaten and King Goomba needs to be banished. This adventure sees the arrival of Dino Goomba who can be ridden through levels. He can eat up any of the Goomba army and also any Goomba fruits he may come across.
SUPER GOOMBA WORLD 2: DINO GOOMBA'S ISLAND
This time around Dino Goomba gets his own game! Dino Goomba's Island is the prequel of Super Goomba World. You play the part of Dino Goomba, trying to deliver Goomba to his parents. You'll have to encounter enemies such as Goomba, who you have to fight on the moon and King Baby Goomba, all the way carrying Baby Goomba on your back.
SUPER GOOMBA RPG
Although the game isn't going to be released in Europe, you'll get to play the part as Goomba, in a turn based RPG. A new gang called the Goomba Gang have stolen the seven Golden Goomba Spirits and it's up to you to get them back. On your way you'll get to fight as King Goomba, Princess Goomba and many more characters. As you progress you'll find new and better weapons and moves to help you.
GOOMBA KART
This time all the Goomba clan are here for an all battling Kart-fest. Play as characters such as Goomba, Goomba, Goomba and even Princess Goomba! Throw Goomba Shells at you foes and mask yourself with a Ghost Goomba power-up. The game includes some brilliant multiplayer fun and a good 1-Player mode as well.
SUPER GOOMBA 64
Goomba's first 3D outing! You'll get to venture through huge 3D environments defeating Goomba after Goomba and finally King Goomba again! But that's not all, collect all 120 Gold Goomba's to meet Dino Goomba! Also there are three new power-ups, these are Red Goomba Caps, for flying, Blue Goomba Caps, for invisibility and Green Goomba Caps for invincibility.
PAPER GOOMBA
The second Goomba RPG is 3D but with 2D characters. Once again lots of adventuring is included and you'll have to face even more Goomba's that try to get in your way.
SUPER GOOMBA SUNSHINE
This time an unknown evil is mimicking Goomba and using graffiti to destroy Isle Goombfino, is it Goomba? Or maybe Goomba? Maybe it's even Goomba! But you'll have to find out yourself as you use your almighty spit to clean up the island.
Shigsy has revealed that more titles will be revealed for 2003. Could there be a Goomba Party? Well you'll have to wait and find out!
