Although I have to admit, even on the PS2 the original did *appear* to be faster, but I think this was caused by a sense of panic due to the graphics not being very clear!

Ahhh... did nobody tell you where the accelerator button was :( Ahhhh. Next time bring a friend who knows which buttons do what on the controller.

Not trying to start console wars or anything, just pointing out fact: The GameCube version of the original Burnout was faster. I hope Burnout 2 matches or betters Burnout 1's speed on the GameCube.
I got out of work early on Friday to nip into the shops to get before they closed. It was totally worth it, loads o stuff to unlock and great graphics and sound.

Well if you liked the origanal or just want a great arcade racer, then yes.
Everything from the origanal has been improved, graphics, speed, crashes, there's new game modes to try out such as the Crash and Persuit mode as well as a ton load of cool vehicles to unlock. The tracks are far better designed than the origanal as weel, their not as dull as the origanal.
