The "General Games Chat" forum, which includes Retro Game Reviews, has been archived and is now read-only. You cannot post here or create a new thread or review on this forum.
Basically, it's divided into two groups.
1) People who are funny, write well, are loved for who they are by others in this group, and are happy with who they are.
And
2) People jealous of people in group 1.
Stop trying to bring people crashing down for doing things they enjoy. Stop slamming people for writing what they want to write. These are public forums. This is not your bench behind the canteen in school.
These forums are here for people to come and write whatever the hell they want on. When it comes to swearing and offensive material, sure, you've got to be careful there for the sake of parents, but otherwise, there is no reason at all why Mystique can't write whatever she wants for the sake of entertainment.
Because, honest, that's all these forums are. Entertainment. There's no power, there are no factions.
And seriously, if you belong to some sort of "PS2/Gamecube/X-Box" gang on these forums? You're pathetic. I don't care how powerful it makes you feel, and I don't care what colour your name is, but on these forums, you are as equal as everyone else, and you have a right to speak as much as everyone else does. Unless you're staff, obviously.
And yeah, lovely, I'm just abusing my power and crap and I'm telling everyone what to do again... actually I just want a community back again. I can't fight anything or anyone because I don't have power. I can't tell you what to do, because I don't have that power either. I can at least try and talk to you about it, discuss with you, put my point across.
And that's why these forums are here. Not so people can come on and try and get their little power upgrade... ever since the notable/newbie/regular system was introduced, we really have been over-run by powerhungry idiot children who don't get enough attention at school.
That's not my opinion this time, that's a fact. Look back before the first notable election and show me any arguements about spamming. The forums were a community.
What IS the obsession with power? If we were all treated the same, then our own individuality would shine through, instead of the grouping in which we have been placed.
So yeah, this is another moan at the grouping system. It's encouraging spamming. It sucks.
The most I've ever learnt about anything, school included, have been from these forums. I've learnt so much about humanity, about people, life love death fear pain, everything. These forums are fantastic teachers in life, and with people so very young using them, I desperately want people to learn the same things I have about life, etc. What's important, not what the common belief to be important is.
The important thing about life is, that we have fun. That's all. There's no realism, there's no power, there's no real meaning, we live, we think a lot, we die. Please God please let's have some fun inbetween, do all the stuff you want to do etc.
But half the time, these forums really aren't fun. People try and bring each other down because they aren't getting enough attention and power and all... and it really, really sucks.
So guys? Stop being so harsh on people that write on here. That means stop being harsh to newbies, regulars AND notables. And write whatever the hell you want to. Just stop being so thoughtless.
Well, that's my rant for today.

Heehee.

What will you do if I don't? Pull out a knife on me or something!?

In the end it was something Goatboy wrote that made me decide not to. It was along the lines of "Why are there so many posts moaning about people moaning?"
I decided it wouldn't really do any good.
The thing is, nobody thinks they're stupid. People don't realise when they're in the wrong as they judge by their own standards, being so wonderfully narrow minded. But still, if one person stops to think then it's never a waste of time.
Other choice points...
1) If you don't like a post, there's no need to insult the poster. Either ignore it, or suggest improvements.
2) People act how they're treated. Hostility breeds hostility - if you're resentful towards people, they'll act the same towards you.
3) Swearing isn't needed. Ever. Insulting someone by cussing can always be avoided. Believe it or not, cussing doesn't make your point stronger in an argument either.
4) Your all idiots*
*See dictionary entry on 'Sniperism'.
Yeah.. what Grix said.
I haven't really been on lately so I haven't noticed much, but when I am back fully (in about a week) I don't wanna see it. Compredez?

Oh, the glories of not being a newbie :). I stick up for intelligent newbies, just hate the really annoying ones.
But remember, we were all spamming, illiterate txt talking monkeys at one stage on this forum. I know plenty of users who used to be just as annoying as newbies are today. :D
