s the world evolves, games tend to as well. For instance, nearly every invention has been included in one game or another.
But, why has Zelda not gone with the flow. Mario got a big Water Gun and went on holiday in a Plane, and a little man appeared in Pikmin wearing a Space suit.
But, one game has not evolved at all.
Zelda.

Of course, that may just be the most controversial thing I just said, and to avoid a sudden hailing of red-faced Nintys going on about the Graphics and Gameplay, I shall tell you my points.

Link still wears a little Robin Hood style outfit. The Zelda of today would be wearing a hoodie, trousers and some damned expensive trainers. If he still wanted to wear his usual, it would at least have a Nike tick somewhere on it, or the name of some horrible sounding kids rock band. And his hair wouldn’t be long, otherwise people would think he was gay. He’d either be skinhead or gelled hair.

His weapons are slightly outdated. He would not use a sword and go up close, he’d use a powerful gun and stay back. He wouldn’t use bombs or magical fairy dust to get through cracked walls, he would use a Rocket Launcher.

To go through a locked door, you do not push blocks around in certain orders, you stick a mine on the doorway, and if that fails, you do it again. No messing around for updated Link, why does the old Link have to mess around sticking big blocks in different areas and what not.

Today’s people do not need posession of a feather to be able to jump a small gap. And, instead of that little thing that makes him powerful, he would just go to the gym for a few hours each day before his adventure started.

Enemies need Guns, and Rocket Launchers, and big balls of Energy. Not just walk around and hit you when yuo go up to them.

But, besides that, Zelda games are quite good :-)

hmmm, not sure how to reply to this asher d. that is im not sure if you're serious or are you just rippin the p**s?

if zelda was set in todays time, still wearing all his hats and long hair etc and using swords as weapons - well that would be 'gay'.
but seeing that zelda is generally set in the past and on a different planet - i think his attire and weapons given to him are spot on.

they dont call them fantasy game for nothing you know!

amos.

Zelda's set in the past.
Imagine how bizzare it would look to see Link up in a wooden tree hut picking-off Ganondorf's minions with a Sniper Rifle...
With all this and more it would all be too easy! We'd soon get bored.
They didn't have those kind-of things back then.

Because it is all so-different to what we know and would expect, we like it. It's fine the way it is.

This new one's sposed to be a prequel , right?
If that's so, then how come Link is 12 years old here when he was only 10 in Ocarina of Time?? Makes no sense...

well one things for sure, if the new zelda is a prequel then technology isn't exactly going to advance right?
but i do agree that it's a bit outdated, he could at least learn some martial arts and become a ninja so that he can throw knives and shururikins properly also, that means he could wear a black ninja suit thingy

Meh, my hair was down to my chin, then I was tricked into having it cut faily short.

Now it's below my ears again.

I don't agree with the post at all. It makes Zelda good habving swords and bows etc. Blowing up doors with mines is for action or FPS games really. Zelda is a great advenure game and if I saw an enemy shooting at me on it I would slap myself silly!

Over the years I've become very jaded after many bad experiences with customer services, you have bucked the trend. Polite and efficient from the Freeola team, well done to all involved.
