In my experience things happen in life that through usually no fault of your own tend to make life suck. After the initial shock its like "things could have gone better, but then again things could have been a whole lot worse"
As Drunk Cow says there is always someone out there in a worse position.

but its probably better that it happened now than you found out that she'd been cheating on you for a long time and found out on the jerry springer show or something.

Hey Bazzman,

Sounds like your girlfriend has left you through no fault of your own. If this is the case, then I would say this: don't worry about things that are out of your hands - life's too short.

This is bad! My problem is millions of times bigger than this! Anyways Bazzman I feel bad for you anyway. Feel better:D
