I like Lost Prophets from what I've heard of them, and have done for a long while, and I was actually surprised to hear someone moaning about them, I thought that you all would have liked them. To the original poster, have you heard many songs of theirs? Personally, I think that if you judge them on 2 or 3 songs, then you're biased, but if you've heard a fair few, then I don't mind. Anyway, 'Shinobi .vs. Dragon Ninja' was decent and very catchy, but 'The Fake Sound of Progress' was a lot heavier and depressing. It was good, but the video is just really offputting - the lead singer must have had plastic surgery or something, because his nose looks ever so strange. His hair is extremely curly, and he looks very feminine. To skeptics, download 4 or 5 tracks of theirs and give them a listen.
Quite a lot of rock fans do it to be cool, I can assume. They wear the bike chains, the skateboards and the baggy trousers to look cool, but I think it makes them look like clowns! My town center is just totally littered with the littluns - it's irritating, and I'm offended when they label the rest of us 'trendies'. I'm hardly trendy, and don't want to be. Trendy people often turn out to be the biggest a*******'s you will meet, rich punks, and people who just buy something to be cool.

Blink 182 as you say, can never be considered cool for the sole fact that they are crap. :-D
However, whether Lost Prophets are "cool" or not they still make fantastic music that I love listning to. I have liked them for quite a while now and it's not because I consider myself to be (more :-D) 'hard' or 'cool'. I like the music so I listen.
I like Oasis too. I only rediscovered them the other week after going through all my old albums. I listened to lots of songs that I thought were great back then and every single one, with the exception of Gangsters Paradise and every Oasis song, was utter s***e.
Not a Dry Eye in the House was brilliant as well but for all the wrong reasons. It was just hilariously bad! :-D

Yeah, they suck! Especially when they invade a festival they have NO RIGHT to be at!!! They are headlining the Deconstruction tour, a punk festival, just because the promoters want all the Nu-metal 'cool kids' to come to the festival so they can make more money (and probably sell the tickets for more because such a 'big' band is headlining)
Gah, it sucks! If they want to play a festival they should stick to the reams of metal festivals there are instead of invading one of the few punk fests!

Thats the same with me, maybe slightly different but my music taste is different to that of my friends. Im more into the indie side of music, and some rock. Listening to people like REM, Oasis and Travis i often get laughed at, but the thing is, these are my types of bands and its better than most of the tripe that comes out today.
I dont follow the crowds at college, listening to the likes of Korn or Limp Bizkit, i dont like them, id rather listed to stuff i like than try being in the crowd and listening to songs that, in my opinion, have the worst lyrics ever.

Thats the same with me, maybe slightly different but my music taste is different to that of my friends. Im more into the indie side of music, and some rock. Listening to people like REM, Oasis and Travis i often get laughed at, but the thing is, these are my types of bands and its better than most of the tripe that comes out today.
