There’s no real debate that PES2 is a superb Football game. But there’s also no doubting that it (and all the other Football games on the market) could have been so much better. Here’s how:

1. Miserable Pitches – Fresh on our minds is England’s latest escapade into Europe, and who could forget the boggy debacle that those people in Bratislava called a Football pitch. So how come, when you play the likes of Slovakia, Ukraine, and all the other Eastern European country’s in football games, are the pitches in such pristine condition? Admittedly, PES2 did have a stab at this – one particular pitch looks very unappetising indeed. But it would do the game the world of good, balls skidding on the surface, Bobbles and divots in the pitch making it almost unplayable, and players slipping all over the park. Lovely Jubbly.

2. Empty stadiums – In all of the current Football games, the stands are always packed to the rafters with flag waving fans. But this is far from realistic, do we really see 100,000 people turn up for a friendly between the mighty Faroe Islands and Bulgaria. No. It’d be more appropriate for one man and his dog to turn up really.

3. Hostile Atmospheres (more general crowd improvements) – I was having a bash on the PES2 Master league, when I came up against Galatasary. I was greeted with an odd boo, but that was all. Far from realistic really, what I’m trying to say is, is that there should be more crowd involvement. Also, how about there being a section where the away fans congregate? And how about the 2 sets of fans tease each other? Now that’s what I’d call an atmosphere.

4. Shockingly bad Referee’s/Referee assistants – The referee’s in football games are far too good. How cool would it be if the Referee’s gave controversial penalties, or if Linesmen were equally incompetent and made several awful decisions which could turn the tide of the games? Lovely Jubbly.

5. Player spats/rivalries – I’m afraid, in football games players are too nice to each other. The most heated moment you’ll find is an exchange of glances after a cynical foul. Where are the handbags at ten paces? Where are the head-butts, the goalmouth brawls? Where are the arguments? There are so many improvements to be made in this department.

6. Streakers – Just a little break from the action on the pitch, after all, Streakers seem to turn up at the strangest of events (I.E International Bowls Tournament)

7. Celebrations – I don’t mean all these rehearsed celebrations which happen in Fifa when your team scores, I mean a proper passionate celebration. In real life, when a home team scores the stadium erupts and the players jump on each other – doesn’t happen in Football games does it? And how about extra mayhem when you score a last minute winner?

8. Multi-coloured Goal-nets – Now I’m sure this doesn’t matter to most people, but I’d prefer playing in goals which have different coloured nets.

9. Handballs and Own goals – TIF had a bash at including handballs, though this became frustrating after a while. This is just a small addition, but with Own goals and handballs becoming a feature, it would tweak the gameplay, and make the sometimes repetitive play a little more unpredictable.

10. Spontaneous moments of disaster – Every now and then, we see a goalkeeper make an absolute hash of a clearance, or a defender make a costly poor back-pass. If these kinds of moments were to happen at spontaneous moments in football games, I believe it would make for more exciting play.

11. Animated Subs and Managers – In real life, we frequently see the likes of Gordon Strachen bellowing with frustration at his players, and subs getting involved while warming up on the touchlines. So how about we see this in football games?

12. Teams going for it at the death – Picture the scene; it’s the 89th minute, your 1-0 down and it’s your last attack, what do you do? Well according o football games, you knock the ball about within the defence. What I’m getting at here is that, when teams are losing they should be piling players forward – It would make the final moments much more exciting and realistic.

Yes. Everytime we 'fight', we always make up. I really don't have a grudge against you, just against dumb posts.

1. It would suck playing there. We want FUN games.

2. Pointless.

3. PES2's crowd options are sufficient already, with you having the option of both teams being well represented, or one being booed with every touch of the ball.

4. Both pointless and annoying. I hate some PES refs already.

5. If you want a hockey game, go buy NHL Hitz.

6. Subbuteo streakers are only funny because it's Subbuteo.

7. There's already great crowd reactions and stuff in Fifa and PES. Although the last gasp winner idea is quite good.

8. Dumb. Sort of in Bayern Munich's stadium in PES.

9. Own goals are in PES perfect, and handballs...are dumb and annoying. As you said.

10. I've seen this in PES, not sure about PES2 though.

11. Great idea. Would probably end up with them doing it all the time though, subs warming up on five minutes and managers yelling at their team winning 6-0.

12. Never had that problem.

13. Could be a nice addition.

14. Lame.

15. Stupid, too hard anyway.

16. No they couldn't. It was awkward, and rubbish. The highlights at the end of PES2 are good enough.

There, almost all your points sucked.

That's what i thought....but it'd be an encouragment for all the do-gooders to go "Oh look it's promoting racism".

13. Banners in the crowd – Every time England play away matches in Europe we always see the England flags emblazoned in every place possible. If we could customize our own banners to be put in the crowd (Like putting “Alex Fergusen likes Hairy men” for example)

14. Tannoy announcers – you, the guys who chat to the crowd pre and post match. ISS2 had an announcer over the megaphone who said who scored etc, but still there’s room for improvement.

15. Post match Reaction – How authentic would It be to see one set of players storm off the pitch at the end of a game and one celebrate and give interviews and such-like. We could also see the fans after the match – throwing missiles in disgust, or giving an ovation to the players.

16 After match analysis (Virtual panel?) – It’d be nice to see the commentators and pundits have a small chat, and look at key moments in the game LMA could create this easily.

Just a few more i thought of

Add to the list as you wish folks

Merci Beacoup
