"XBox problems"

I recently had problems with my XBox, losing game saves and getting random disk-read errors. I took it back to the shop I bought it from, and the replacement machine did the same. My friends XBox also had problems - sometimes refusing to load a game full-stop. Needless to say I got my cash back for it, and am probably going to hold off getting another XBox and get a Gamecube first. I liked what I saw on XBox, but from what games I saw/played on the Gamecube demo pod recently, I will get more enjoyment out of a Gamecube than XBox.

I'm not slating XBox at all, far from it. Just wondered if anybody else has had any problems, or knows anybody else who has??

Yeah, never fail to laugh when I hear the Covenant grunts panicing after I've tagged them with a plasma grenade. ;-)

Yeah, bad luck eh?! Still, I'm not too disheartened cos' I know I can get another if I really want to. But, I have my PS2 to keep me amused until the Gamecube hits the shores. I'll get one and then re-evaluate the XBox.

Still, all of the games I wanted on Xbox are coming to PC (GTA3, Grand Prix 4 etc.) so all is not lost.

Your the only one I've heard (besides the friend you mentioned), who has had these problems. Everyone else I know who has the console has been enjoying themselves and not had any problems whatsoever. I've been playing mine for stupid amounts of time and it still never gives me any grief.

These things happen though, shame you ended up parting with yours.
