That's what the TV advert for TimeSplitters 2 claims.

Somehow, I don't think so!

It is an excellent game, but I can think of at least 4 which I've been looking forward to far more.

Yes, but some games could get away with it.

Ask around the forum regulars how many were actully waiting for MGS2, and you'll find quite a few. The same with Halo, and Sunshine.

Similarly, people are known to be wetting themselves over Vice City, Splinter Cell, Eternal Darkness etc.

But TS2? Nah...

The original Timesplitters was a launch game on PS2.

TS2 does have a lot of extra challenges, and an excellent multiplayer mode. It is the first shooter since PD to come close to the same style of FPS, and therefore is seen as an excellent game (which it is).

I don't think anyone can ever label anything as the most anticipated game of the year. It's been a long year, and at the moement people say that GTA Vice City is the most anticipated game. What about Metal Gear 2? More hype than hype itself, and loads of people waited for it.
Then there was Super Mario Sunshine. The ninties were probably waiting for this ever since they put Mario 64 up onto the top shelf. And Zelda is anticipated wildly as well.
On XBox, they were probably anticipating Halo around the birth of the console, and it still is one of their best games. If Halo 2 were to be properly announced, then I think that for many that would be the most anticipated game of next year.
It's down to opinion. Some people's most anticipated games could have been Tekken 4, Dead Or Alive 3 or Smash Bros Melee. May have even been Mario Advance 2.
All in all, it is pretty ignorant to label any game as the most anticipated, because it depends on who you are and what console you have.

To me, this game is simply well over-hyped.
Apparently it's a sequel, but i'd never even heard of "TimeSplitters" before news of this mutli-format shooter arrived! And I doubt that you had either.

I don't know why it is, but it just is, to me.
It may have something to do with the fact that former Rare people who worked-on GoldenEye and Perfect Dark are working on this...
It maybe be because it's multi-format...
It may be because you can shoot monkeys!

I don't know.

Some people are even calling it "The next GoldenEye"!!
C'mon! Have you even played it yet??

The multiplayer modes sound great and everything, but i've heard the single player missions are pretty boring and linear.
Doesn't sound like GoldenEye to me!

It's also one of the most over-rated games of the year.

Every review I've read gives it 9+, 90%+ - this is ridiculous.

Yes it's a good game, but the review scores it's getting give the impression that it's a classic - which it certainly isn't.

With Timesplitters 2 we have a case of low expectation meets better than we thought it would be = "what a brilliant game!"

It's just a decent, well-rounded FPS in the style of GoldenEye & Perfect Dark. Good but not great.

I wanted this (and am now getting it) so thats all good. But when the ad said that, all I had to do was to glance up at my beloved Mario Sunshine box and sake my head.

Still, it'll rule.........

Nope, not even me. TS2 looks very good from the demo, but GTA-Vice City is going to be my "most wanted".
