Erm.
Oops.
*kicks feet and swings legs for a bit*
You know that animation I was doing? The one I've been doing for about a year and a half now?
Well it's kinda been accidently deleted.
*looks around some more*
I didn't mean to.
Really.
And... err... well, the backups have gone too.
That's about fifty minutes of work that's gone. Most of it hasn't been seen because I couldn't be arsed to upload it.
So...
err...
Damn.
Sorry.
I take it SR deciding to stop work last night prevented it's posting. :-)
I'll keep an eye out.
"I think it's about time another FOG story was started, too. Hmm..."
Me too... Sod it, you know what? I think I'll start one.
It won't be complicated. Too much.
Check Prime. I'll start writing now. If it doesn't take off, it doesn't take off, but I feel like writing anyway.

Well anyone else would think it a tragedy, but Grix uses it as a turning point. Incredible.
Educating myself and learning through experience is all very well, but the enjoyment is in the thrill of that chase, in the learning process itself. I still keep a copy of my first ever website. It may not be very good, and it may no longer serve any useful purpose to anyone else, but it's not useless. It's a link to the past. If it dies, a memory fades. More than that, it's a reflection on the person I used to be. A different viewpoint. It's amazing how people change. In my opinion, you can never learn enough about yourself.
I think it's about time another FOG story was started, too. Hmm...
HOW?
Everything that happens, in my mind, happens for a reason. Changes happen because they do. Unless it's a very good reason, I won't ever try to change something back.
The whole point of me doing the Fog Animations was for me to learn about animation, character design, cameras, timing, everything. Having the film was an option, sure, it would have been great to look back and watch it, and laugh at how bad it is, but this is no more to me than a picture I drew when I was six being burned.
Things I do in the past do not echo what I do in the future. Things I have made in the past will never be of any concequence. They have only been made for me to learn from my mistakes. None of it is worth anything to anyone but me, and they've already served their purpose.
There's no point in mourning this, and I cannot be bothered to try and get it back. And anyway, I am definitely not defeated that easily.
I've started animating again already. I still have the characters. Maybe it's time for a new story.
I'll really have to start learning how to use all these animation tools I have on my computer. Ho hum, one day.
This is important, because formatting will actually wipe the content, whereas deleting will only remove all links to the files - the 0's and 1's will remain exactly where they are until some other file overwrites them. If XP overwrote them, they're gone for good. If not, they can be salvaged.
Norton SystemWorks will have this function, and it can also be done by another means involving the mapping of network drives and then examining your system 'screenshots'.
Which version of Windows were you using previously?
Depending on how important those fiels are to you, you can get this professionally done

Your best option is probably

If you are going to do that, I suggest doing as little as you can with your computer until you've sorted that out. Everything you do on windows increases the chances of the files being unrecoverable.
