It's a real shame I think, as that money from the Rare deal could have been put to excellent use, rather than paying off fines. I wonder what effect this will have on games or advertising? Surely the money must have been a substantial knock to one department?
Anyway, it seems like a completely unjust fine when compared to the original, and it's very likely Nintendo will argue it down in the appeal. After all, they're in it to make money, but they don't rip off their customers, and that's for certain.
Also, how could Nintendo's prices compete with Sony's during that period if they were so high? Surely people would just stop buying Nintendo's products? Hmm.. there's something rather odd about this whole thing. Let's just hope it's not too big a hit for Nintendo.
Apparently, German prices were even higher than ours...
I had virtually naf-all N64 games come Christams time 1998, even though i'd had the console since March '97. Just too damn expensive. So many games I missed-out on because of it, so many I am now trying to find second-hand for a tenner... Damn Nintendo!
But that £100m fine must be nothing to them.
They could probably cover that easily anyway thanks to all their high-pricing during that 7-year period alone!
What harms a fine gonna do?
Hmmmmm... sound like Football....
> That's the Eternal Darkness marketing budget gone.
Whats that, never heard of it.
But the fine wont make a diffrence as nintendo has been prepared for this years back and have had money at the ready for ages.
Also the "big" annoucements will be out soon and this will blow over.

i think it was like someone said that they wouldnt let the shop drop the price, but i also heard that britian was paying more money than they should cause of it going to a high priced company, and the rest of europe pay even more.
Also they wouldnt let the snes be sold unless they put the price of the N64 up.
