According to ign.com, SCEE made an announcement yesterday regarding online gaming in the UK!!
The planned date is 'Spring 2003' with the games available for the US launch also available, although whether we'll get a free game (Hardware?) remains to be seen.
If your French is better than mine, you can go to the French site for more infomration. While things remain sketchy at least we know things are happening......
Noting to do with XBOX Live I'm sure......

Its alright, but its a bit inconsistent. One day I`ll remember loads of things, then the next I`ll have trouble with remembering my keys and stuff.... and all that without taking any drugs!
