70% of england can get broadband and that is getting more and more, the only problem is people dont want broadband as they dont need it, i mean the normal user doent need it whats the point if its only going ot load up amazon up quicker. I must admit thought i can see people changing due to prices comeing down. More and more people are finding out what broadband is and it is comeing more and more used.
I do belive though that the broadband adverts are launched at the wrong set of people, they say the price and say its 10 times faqster it would be more useful they had a advert with someone explaing what it is and the advantages and a computer to show it, that way it might intice more and more people who know little about pcs. If they did it like they did the sky= advert i do belive it would be more widely known.

Oh yeah and that connecting interface is going to cost forty quid, hmm don't think so. I'm not trying to argue here, just trying to make people (some don't purchase hardware) that the price of HDD are now becoming very cheap for massive amounts of storage.
What I don't want to see is the HDD attachment for the PS2 being shipped to the general public with a £100 price tag, this is a disgrace and I'll be waiting for the price to drop to about what I mentioned earlier.
I haven't looked on SR as I never buy hardware from here but I'm sure a quick check would show that their prices aren't that far off either.

The modem unit is around $39.99 in the US, so if it's a straight dollar-to-pound conversion, you'll be looking at £39.99. Hopefully they'll let us benefit from the exchange rate differences, and we'll get it for less.
It will definitely have a broadband connection. The US version has broadband and a 56k modem, but there was talk of the UK version not including the 56k option.
I personally think that's a mistake, as broadband isn't widely available enough here in the UK. But on the plus side, it would make the unit cheaper still.

It may well be. I haven't looked at HD prices lately, but the last time I did, that was about the right price.
Don't forget it may be a little higher though, as you're not buying a bare drive, but the connecting interface as well.

Oh. Lack of info : (
How mush is the modem gonna cost then? It's a broadband one, right?
You can't exactly play games off a 56k modem now, can you?

It's always been a separate unit, but you might get them packaged together.

Hmm, well considering I've just puchased an 80gb hard drive for my PC which cost me about £74 then I expect the cost to come in at about half that amount!
I think you'll find you'll probably have to get it eventually if games need more memory or whatever. Like that N64 one.
So confused......
