The connector at the back of the PS2 looks (although I ain't looked for a while) like a normal IDE cable connector, if this is the case then surely the HDD will not be any different to a normal PC HDD.
If they charge £100 for the HDD then people are really getting ripped off for their money, that's all I was trying to say...

Yeah and I meant to say I didn't mean to start an argument! I can see what your saying about the cost of the HDD for the PS2 but as I said, if it's a hundred quid then forget it....and here I think Sony will really screw up.

I couldn't agree more on the fact that its a mistake, my only thought is that Sony wanted minimal lag in the games, therefore not uncluding the 56k option for the UK, i'm sure i've read reports that SOCOM is very unplayable using 56k in the US, so it may be a good thing for some people, but bad for 56k users, shame really if thats the case regarding the lack of 56k option

There's already a printer available in Japan called the Popegg, and a camera - the Eye Toy - has also been developed. It tracks motion, so you can use it in specially-developed games.
As for scanners - unlikely as there'd be no real use for them. But there's no reason why any USB scanner couldn't be used, IF the software supported it.

My Xbox has twice given me an error on 2-player TimeSplitters 2 - something about the drive being 'removed while in use'. Though I tend to think it's something to do with TS2, rather than the drive itself going wrong. It hasn't happened in single-player, nor on any other games.
