If you do not know what stars are I will explain. Stars a reward points from nintendo. You can get them by registering you console number with that little card you got with it and for games as well.

Buy and register these three products Super Mario Sunshine, Eternal Darkness AND Starfox Adventures before December 31, 2002 and earn an EXTRA 750 stars*!
Now that you will be earning these extra Stars, Nintendo introduces a number of cool new prizes, starting with the Nintendo GameCube WaveBird Wireless Controller*, which will be available in the Stars Catalogue next week, as well as some other secret surprises!

Wanna know how I got 2 vip cards with Smash Bros?
Well step this way my freinds and learn my secret.
Go to a GAME store, go with a freind or someone, go to buy a new game, make them say "Look theres a second hand one thats cheaper" and you go "I dont want a second hand one because you dont get all them vip cards" kick up a fuss. Go to pay and the guy who has heard you might put 2 vip cards in to shut you up. Worked for me.

Hmm, 1,930 stars.
Then again, i have the pad i got with my cube, my imported wavebird and orange pads, and the one i got with my Q. So i guess it's not really too important for me to rack up the points.
Do you get points for all the repeat visits to the site? If so it might be worth changing your homepage...

+ 15 Site visits, + 200 points for registering on the site, and I've only got 2215 and I've never speny any. When I get Starfox, that'll be 250 points plus the bonus 750 points, making 3215. I've got SSBM but didn't get a VIP card in it :( , so how are people supposed to get the points ? Even with SSBM and doshin it'd only make 3715, and to get 4500 you'd need 3 more games !
Anyone remotely close yet ?

theres about 5 things i can think these "annoucments" could be:
1. buying capcom, as they have been close and with capcom not doing so well..also the resi evil being GC only and the help on the zelda GBC.
2. Demo discs, ok not that big but it would be something.
3. like you said a players choice range
4. internet
5. new games...but it can be unless they have about 20 new games being made cause telling new games are being made isnt that big..is it?
