I don't know if this has already been spoken about. Apologies if it has but I was reading recently about a game about Soccer Holiganism, there has also been reports about racist computer games being developed.

Is it me or was anyone really dissapointed by this, I mean, I have been an avid computer game fan for years and I am pleased at the way that Computer Games are going from strength to strength and more people are getting into it. But I feel that the above games are taking advantage of the games playing public, using games to get across messages as mentioned above is distorting the whole purpose of games and are generally giving gamimng a bad name. I admit that while GTA3 is not necessarily completely morally or politically correct, the makers are not trying to win people over into thinking that "jacking" cars and runnning people over is ok etc. Is this the case with the hooligan game, I would have to question the reason this game has been made, and racist games, disguting. In this day and age it is unbelievable to think that video gaming is being used as a means to bring people together is actually being used to segregate people and poison and influence peoples minds.

Is there a difference between shooting someone in GTA3 for the various reasons there are and shooting someone in a racist game because of their skin colour? Of course, I think that computer games should be used to educate, insight and help people have fun. Not co-erce them into supporting a twisted sick idea.

Sorry to rant on but Let's just be grateful that these games are few and far between and hope that they stay that way in the near future.

On the Atari ST I had a really dubious game called Ayatollah Invaders. You had a tank and had to shoot oncoming ayatollahs. It was in the days when we all had to support Iraq in the war against Iran, I think. It wasn't even a good game, just sort of offensive.

I hope people don't purchase it along the lines of 'I'll see what its like' because then you'll be increasing sales and consequently the demand for developers to make moe of these games

Where did you read that? It'd be interesting to read...

Hopefully if ever such a game was released gamers can just ignore it and join others in condemning it, as a sign to everyone and the mindless manufacturers that this game has no place is this industry
