Well me being such a die hard fan is of course going to explain this. Nintendo are apprently opting for shorter games, simply not true they are just trying to fill the release list with more games, yes we get the epics but the mini replayable games as well. Now Mario is sadly not going to be that long but according to his maker Shigsy VERY REPLAYABLE, this would of annoyed me slightly if he hadn't of said that Mario is made by a relativly small team compared with Zelda which is being made by a massive team. That means Mario will be short (er) and replayable whilst Zelda will be huge...
Although I disagree slightly with the Mario move, major titles AAA epic titles like Metroid, Zelda, Starfox Adventures, Eternal Darkness etc... get delayed ALOT, all titles above have been delayed (although there is no official date for Zelda or Metroid). But these are the titles we love Nintendo for. But during the N64 we waited and coped with 3rd party games until the next Nintendo classic. But this time Nintendo have expanded and are filling the release list with Pikmin's and Luigi's Mansions but this is to go along side the epics not against.
So there ya go.
Dringo.

actually its a good launch date
i can't bothered to explain why though.
yawn
slik ~_~
That's no c***-up.
Mario Sunshine is probably going to be like Mario World in 3D.
A gamer could rush through Mario World in a few days but it's still a challenging game and there's loads to come back to like hard secrets to find and special levels to explore.
Some levels you might've taken a shortcut and might want to do properly this time round...
I think that's what Nintendo are aiming for.
As for Zelda, Zelda's always been about big epic storyline based adventures.
Is it me Dringo, or have you changed your mind about wanting Zelda to be "short and sweet"? :-)
As for online, Nintendo seem to be only considering games that HAVE to be online.
They should start off with games that have all the usual offline content to sell to all Gamecube users (like Phantasy Star's Four PLayer Splitscreen and Perfect Dark/Mario karts multiplayer modes), and give an online option in these games for people who want it.
That'll encourage people to go online.
Besides, I don't care for the online RPG everyone's dreaming about. All I want is Perfect Dark and F-Zero, with a multiplayer where I can play gamers accross the world from my bedroom.
Please Nintendo, is the oportunity to blow a digital representation of Grix's head off really too much to ask?
:-)
I would much prefer a game that gets delayed but is amazing when it comes out to a game thats quick out but not very good and certainly not an epic.
> Another thing is Nintendo's online plans. When are they gonna release details?
> PSO might have to be renamed to Phanstasy star offline...
Hehe, now that would be funny. :D
Bloody websites scary mongering again.
They know full well, from both experience and their standards, that games will over run their release dates! It's happened for all of their major releases of modern time (bar to GC launch games, which were hardly major).
The problem is that if Ninty actually said that Zelda OOT would take 4 years to make, then people wouldn't have waited. So they delayed it about 6 times, over 1.5 years! Ludicrous!
I don't know the answer to either question and I don't really care!
I try not to get excited about the release of a game until about a month maybe before it's going to be released! What's the point in getting in a paddy about the release of a game, when the console hasn't even been released yet?
Just seems a little sad to me people complaining about games like this being delayed. If a games being delayed, specially if it's a Rare game, then there's good reason! They want to make it the best game that it can be. If this means delaying the release then so be it! Fine by me!
:P
