Whilst you lot argue over which console is better be it the X-box, PS2 or Gamecube, over this side of the gaming spectrum it is which console has the better gamer. Now each console has their own point of view, my X-box friend claims that his user, Graham, is an intelligent, popular and good looking person, naturally I think he’s too large, he’d barley fit in the chair and his hands are far too small for the controller. But I can’t talk much because my gamer, I believe, is faulty. The story you are about to here is probably the worst case of a poorly made gamer that you will ever here, and if it isn’t then I seriously worry about the future of the Nintendo gamer.
The name of my gamer is Dringo. Now he seemed a big Nintendo fan to me, picking me up as the store opened on launch day with a whole host of launch games etc… yet my initial impressions seemed false. It all seemed strange when he couldn’t connect the leads to the TV properly; it resulted in an extremely frustrated kick. Not a long drawn out kick but enough to realize that my gamer has a short temper and loves nothing better than to take it out on me. Well that was many months ago now, and has he turned out to be an aggressive son of a gun I feared? Yep but that is the least of my worries. Dringo’s temper tantrums occur regularly, he shouts at me at least once per gaming session and often he goes a little insane. One period I recall when failing for the umpteenth time to do one of the action stages on Super Mario Sunshine, the gamer in question, slammed his controller on the bed, leaped at the TV and shook it violently. The Arial collapsed off the top, I fell onto the floor and his TV literally fell backwards. It was all a nasty scene, yet it is my precious controller friends that I feel sorry for. On May 3rd Dringo had 3 beautiful controllers, 5 months later and Dringo has one. What happened I hear you ask? Well the dearest purple/clear controller was flung literally across the room; the wire was pulled from me with great force and smashed against the wall. No physical damage luckily, yet he will never be able to be a controller again. One of the black ones, my original friend, someone who has been packaged with me since birth was also thrown… at me! This controller does work to a degree although the A button and C stick refuses to compute with me anymore… such a sad day that was.
Dringo stamps on me frequently when he is venting his frustrating, most of the time he is the one who gets hurt… I can’t criticize the poor boy though, he truly does like me, he gets all the best games and some, he gets the majority of the gaming magazines, and he does show me off to all his friends. Its just he has problems… and that is not to account for his mother. Probably the most feared aspect of this gamer, the mother is the most violent, sadistic woman on this planet. The dear old N64 has apparently been hurled across the room by the woman, a remaining piece of a Gameboy told me how he was destroyed after being thrown from a second floor window… and the other day I found his Dreamcast. It was hiding at the top shelf, lying there, unused and forgotten. I asked it why he is no longer used and he told me a chilling tale, a tale of an evil woman, an angry woman, where the unsuspecting system was hurled down the stairs… he hasn’t been the same since.
So I sit here in constant fear, I fear that Timesplitters 2 or Eternal Darkness will drive him over the edge, and that I too may end up like my SEGA friend… I often cringe when the dreaded woman enters the room, and I am glad when he has a friend there… he never looses his temper then. Although the Dreamcast explained to me that several of his friends were witness to his early retirement. Is my gamer faulty, or is this a common anomaly with Nintendo fans? And more to the point should I put up with him or find a nice X-box owner.
The Nintendo Gamecube.
