I knew this would happen,
People will stop dissing the XBox and realise that it is a good console and size doesnt mater.
Before it came out there was a lot of negative hype, killing it before it was born. But now as it's out people have realised how good the console is.
A few weeks ago these forums were full to the brim with comments like:
'It'll never fit in my room'

'It's too heavy to move'

'The XBox was designed to fit in only Bill Gates' House and nobdy else's'

However now it's nice to see people now have realised their wrongs and are coming out with reviews like YH and Wookie. It's nice to see some REAL reviews coming out now.

Thanks.

I don't think the Xbox is over-priced. It's true that you do get more than you got with PS2, but then PS2 was launched two years ago - prices have fallen, meaning that more can be put into Xbox.

I know MS are losing money on each unit, and so did Sony. Who's to say that PS2 wouldn't have launched with a HD and BB adapter, had prices been then what they are now?

My only real quibble is that I think Xbox should be able to play DVD's out of the box using the controller, just as PS2 can. At least on PS2 the DVD remote is an option, not a requirement.

I'm still waiting to go and play an X-box, and i've heard some very good things from people who have played one - mainly the games 'Amped' and 'Halo'.

I don't think it's that bad a console, and it does stand a good chance of coming out on top - even if it is overpriced.
People obviously didn't care about how much it was when they qued up at midnight on the 13th/14th, as they knew it'd all be worth the wait!

I'm getting a GameCube myself, and at the moment i'm trying to enter every competition I see to try and win an X-box.
I would go and buy one, but the price IS to high for me, and i'll wait till it goes down. But I fear it may not go down for a long time, due to it's early popularity and success.

It should be a fine console, and with the feature of not requiring memory cards, it's setting the standards for it;s main rivals!
It doesn't matter if it's big or small, it's how the games play!!

They're not going to release a keyboard or mouse.

MS want to get away from the image of "PC in a box" that they were branded with when they first announced the XBox.

I thought that, but now I'm not sure. Still, irrelevant now as I have it! :-)

That's one thing that surprised me about Xbox... an apparent lack of expandability - not USB ports or anything like that.

But there are two connectors on the controllers... maybe they will connect there?

It was always the intention (since MS bought Bungie) to release the game first on Xbox and then on PC. However, Internet gaming has (from current reports) been removed from the PC version.

As for MS "stealing" good games, I think you'll find that EVERY manufacturer does this- especially new ones.

In order for the Playstation, Dreamcast and Xbox to get developers, they need to guarantee sales. To guarantee sales you neeed some games. To get games you need developers......

So, Sony, with the original PSX, boughty dozens of developers to make sure they had a decent list of games. Sega bought excluives like DOA2 (in America) and 2nd party developers in Europe. And now MS do the same, and it's frowned on. Why?

1) It's MS
2) They've got a good game

Yes, it is true as it is only on Xbox. It will never come on to PS2 or GC. But Bungie have said it is coming to PC. Xbox Only means "Hey you cant play it on PS2 or GC." Really its away for MS to do some advertising saying you have to get a Xbox to play these games.

PS2 has exclusives but they dont advertise them with Only on PS2.

PC has tons of PC only games but non of them have Only on PC.

I can 100% say Halo will be out on PC by the end of the year. Some reports say it could be September time. Check out the Bungie website to see if it got anything about it. www.bungie.com

On the Halo DVD case it says in yellow writing at the top ONLY ON XBOX.

Does that not speak for itself?

It's not a bad console as such, it just needs time to catch up with the PS2 in terms of scope and gameplay.

I've been playing a few of the games, Amped at first and then mostly Project Gotham, and I'm pretty impressed by the last. I still love the Dreamcast games and the Xbox seems to have sequels to most of the good ones, so I may well get one as soon as they drop in price (or I win the lottery!).

Oh wel...

Yes Halo is coming on to the PC. Halo would have been on the PC ages ago, but MS wanted a decent exclusive FPS for the Xbox. Halo on the PC should be out sometime later on in the year.
